When I click a link to go to a certain site it will take me to a whole diffrent page. This is my problem please help.

Hi jay111276 Welcome to TomCoyote forums! I'm looking through your log now, and will post back soon. Until I complete my training, everything that I post to you must be checked by an expert - so there may be a small delay between posts. Thanks for your patience. :)
Hi jay111276.

I've looked through your log and I'm preparing the first stage of the 'fix'. However, I think that you have something that's hiding from HijackThis. To fool the 'nasty' into letting us see the complete picture, we need to rename HijackThis.exe.

Please use Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Mike\Desktop\hijackthis\ and rename HijackThis.exe as NoHiding.exe. Please then open it, scan and post another log.
I hope I did this correctly. if not you will need to explain how to rename a file to me.

Hi jay111276.

Am I a lost cause? Just wondering if you can see any problems.

No, you're not a lost cause. :) There are quite a few problems, but I'm sure that we can sort them out. I'm currently waiting for an expert to approve the first stage of my proposed 'fix'. I'm afraid that they are very busy at the moment, so there may be a bit of a wait before I can reply.

Please be patient - I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Hi jay111276.

I cannot see any sign that you are using a firewall. Are you using Windows XP firewall? If not, I suggest that you switch it on immediately. Click Start->Control Panel->Windows Firewall and select On. I will make some further recommendations once we have got rid of the malware.

Please go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs and uninstall the following program, if present. Don't worry if it's not there.
PurityScan (this may be called PuritySCAN By OIN, OIN, OuterInfo or similar)

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • It will create a report named vundofix.txt on your main drive (C:\vundofix.txt)
Note: It is possible that VundoFix may encounter a file it cannot remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot Simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Download win32delfkil.exe and save it on your desktop.
  • Close all windows.
  • Double click on win32delfkil.exe to start the removal tool.
  • The computer will reboot automatically.
  • After reboot a logfile will open: C:\windelf.txt
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt, C:\windelf.txt and a new HijackThis (now NoHiding.exe) log as a reply to this thread.

Hi jay111276.

I note that you have recently had another thread here at TomCoyote (http://www.tomcoyote.org/forums/lofiversio…php/t69504.html). Is this the same computer? If so, it would have been helpful to mention it as I need to find out why you have got this heavily infected in just one week.

You are using ClamWin anti-virus. This does not include a real-time scanner. It is vital that you install an anti-virus program without delay. This, and the lack of a firewall, could explain why you have got so heavily infected so soon. Please see here for advice - Computer Safety On line - Anti-Virus and install one of the recommended products straightaway. AVG is good, and it's free, as is Avast http://www.avast.com/. Without a real-time anti-virus program and a firewall running, you will get re-infected very quickly.

The two fixes got rid of quite a few 'nasties'. Now let's sort out the rest. :) There's quite a lot to do I'm afraid, but take it one step at a time. If you're unsure of anything, or have any problems, then stop and ask.

Step 1: ATF Cleaner

First let's clean things up a bit. Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune © from here : http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1
This is a stand-alone program that does not need to be installed. Save it to a convenient location and make a shortcut on your desktop. Using this program will remove temporary files, temporary internet files and cookies from your system, which will mean that any scans will run faster.
  • Double-click the shortcut on your desktop to run the program.
  • Under Main, choose Select All
  • Click Empty Selected
  • If you use Firefox browser,
    • Click Firefox at the top and choose Select All
    • Click on Empty Selected
    • NOTE: If you would like to keep any saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • Click Exit to close.
  • If you use Opera browser,
    • Click Opera at the top and choose Select All
    • Click on Empty Selected
    • NOTE: If you would like to keep any saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • Click Exit to close.
Step 2: Look2Me-Destroyer

Do you still have this from your previous 'fix'? If not, please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to your desktop.

Close all windows before continuing.
Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
Put a check next to Run this program as a task.

You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
Your computer will then shutdown.

Notes:
If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet, please allow it.
If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 folder.
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/images/lib/MSWINSCK.OCX

Turn your computer back on.

Step 3: HijackThis 'Fix'

Run HijackThis and click Scan and then check (tick) the following, if present (don't worry if any are missing):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4F30A744-1FDF-3156-A7DA-1243C06AA5CD} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\issbjdzk.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: SSL encrypt - {746455FE-D059-47e7-AF0E-140E03F5A447} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsh3B.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E9DEF928-22D3-4D6B-9643-FB5191AE2D2B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvvv.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [adstart] "iexplore.exe" "http://iesettingsupdate"
O4 - Startup: TA_Start.lnk = C:\WINDOWS\TIELT001.exe
O16 - DPF: {2D2BEE6E-3C9A-4D58-B9EC-458EDB28D0F6} - http://www.drivecleaner.com/.freeware/inst…leanerstart.cab
O16 - DPF: {5526B4C6-63D6-41A1-9783-0FABF529859A} - http://cabs.elitemediagroup.net/cabs/mediaview.cab
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winwly32 - winwly32.dll (file missing)

Close down all programs, browsers and other open windows. Make sure that only the above items are checked and then click on Fix checked.

Step 4: Show Hidden Files and Folders

HijackThis may not remove all of the files relating to the fixed items. We therefore need to check this and delete them if necessary. First we need to make sure that you can see all of the files.
  • Click Start
  • Open My Computer
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
  • Select the View tab
  • Advanced Settings: Under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files and folders
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) option
  • Click Yes to confirm
  • Click OK
Step 5: Set-up Ewido anti-spyware

I note that you already have this program installed, please update it as detailed below.
  • Click the Update icon at the top and under Manual Update click the Start update button.
  • Either Ewido will update or inform you that no update was available.
You will need to change the following settings in Ewido:
  • Click the Shield icon at the top and under Resident shield is… click active. This should now change to inactive.
  • Click the Update icon and untick the automatic update option.
  • Click the Scanner icon at the top and then click the Settings Tab.
  • Under How to act? click Recommended actions and select Quarantine from the menu.
You can now close Ewido. Do not scan.

Step 5: Reboot into Safe Mode

You will need to reboot your computer into Safe Mode for the next steps. It would be a good idea for you to print these instructions, as you will not have access to the internet.

Important: If you have an always on connection to the internet, physically disconnect that connection until you are finished with Safe Mode and have rebooted back into normal mode.

To boot into Safe Mode:
  • Restart your computer.
  • Continually tap the F8 button as your computer is booting (a menu appears).
  • Use up-arrow key to select Safe Mode and press Enter.
Step 6: Delete Malware Files

Click on Start then My Computer and find the following files, shown highlighted in red. Delete any found, but don't worry if any are missing.
  • C:\WINDOWS\TIELT001.exe <– File only
  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvvv.dll <– File only
  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\issbjdzk.dll <– File only
  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsh3B.dll <– File only
  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\winwly32.dll <– File only
Stay in Safe Mode.

Step 7: Run Ewido anti-spyware

Close all open windows and then start Ewido anti-spyware.
  • Click on Scanner on the toolbar.
  • Click on the Settings tab.
    • Under How to act? - make sure that Quarantine is selected.
    • Under How to scan? - All checkboxes should be ticked.
    • Under Possibly unwanted software - All checkboxes should be ticked.
    • Under Reports - Select Automatically generate report after every scan and uncheck Only if threats were found.
    • Under What to scan? - Select Scan every file.
  • Click on the Scan tab.
  • Click on Complete System Scan to start the scan process.
  • Let the program scan your computer.
  • When the scan has finished, follow the instructions below:
    • Make sure that Set all elements to: shows Quarantine
    • Important: Click on the Apply all Actions button (this must done before saving the report).
    • When Ewido has finished, it will display the message All actions have been applied.
    • Then click the Save Scan Report button.
    • Click the Save Report as button.
    • Save the report to your Desktop.
  • Right-click the Ewido Tray Icon and select Exit.
Step 8: Post Logfiles

Reboot normally and run another HijackThis scan.

Please post:
  • the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt
  • the Ewido report
  • a new HiJackThis log.
Please confirm that you have Windows XP Firewall switched on (see my earlier post).
I have the windows firewall on and I downloaded avast.
