Messenger plus is full of spyware and adware if you installed it and did not choose the option not to load advertising support.

Use Add/Remove Programs and remove Messenger plus.

You can re-install Messenger plus later, just remember to install without
advertising support.



Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.


Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.


1.Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2.Next, open Add/Remove Programs and remove if listed:

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Delete these Folders if listed:

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

It says that i can't remove the sponsor program because some files have been corrupted. it says that this is caused by anti-spyware or anti-virus softwares. It then made an attempt to repair the files so uninstalation could take place but said it could not. It advices me to turn off these programs and try to unistall but i have no such programs running. It then says if this fails to reinstall messenger plus wit the sponsor program and then unistall it.
should i do this now?

Yes we need to get rid of it for now.

ok got rid of msg plus sponsor program and i havent had a pop up yet and no desktop ad icons show.. so thats good : ) As for deleting things, i cant find some of them but let me tell you what i have found that you could tell me to delete. i did delete the win32k first off, in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data i found a folder called "blue type more browse" inside it are all little exe files (about 100) with real odd names im sure this is adware cause of the name.. some include "once gram" "meow joy" "1 biyte" "1 gram"… how should i get rid of these and i remember seeing the words blue type more browse in my HJT log.. what should i do about these 2nd in the same C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data there are two more folders. 1 is called "plan bird 16 link" and inside it is a file (1kb) called "mess thunk less" and it says system file underneath it the other folder is "once gram vc title" and inside it is a file called "ThunkScrAxis" and underneath it, it says system file it is 22kb also there is a folder called sectaskman inside i found files with the names 32third in them and also mailcash and bho.. there are also several other ffiles in here that begin with icn_############# #########=random numbers and letters these all have the words file written underneath them.. some of the icn files are described as application extensions in C:/ in !killbox there is a mailcash.exe file. why is it here? below is the log for killbox. and i did reboot several times since running the program. Open that folder and delete all files then delete the folder blue type more browse

2nd in the same C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

That's where it puts the files it deletes. You can delete the file.

Empty Recycle Bin
Reboot and post a new HijackThis log

All deleted except the folder "blue type more browse" - JUST managed to delete it actually
i delted alll the .exe in it and one system but when trying to delete the folder it says error, some other program or person may be using it, but it has no contents.
and i have no more pop ups or desktop ads. THANKS VERY MUCH : )

Close all windows and browsers.
Open HijackThis
Click on Misc Tools
Click on Open Process Manager
Click once on the file below to select it:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Once First Vc Title\Mail Cash.exe
Click: Kill Process to end process

Click on the Back button to exit Process Manager

Now, back at the main screen of HijackThis, proceed to Scan.
and put a check by these.
Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

the folder once gram vc title was not there as i had already deleted it
and there was no process for mail cash listed when using misc tools
But, i checked the boxes as you said restarted and i believe now by lookin at the HJT log that it is gone

You need to update SunJava.
Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 8.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name. It should have the [external image: Posted Image] icon next to it.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-1_5_0_08-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.





If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.
