Hello and Welcome to Tom Coyote :)

Sorry For the delay :(

2 Things:

First you have a completely unpatched version of Windows, Please go HERE

and download and install SP1 (service pack 1) Do not install SP2 (service pack 2) until we are sure your PC is clean.

Next Click Start->>All Programs->>Accessories->>System Tools ->>Disk cleanup

And run the Clean up Wizard.

Once this is done->> Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log

thanks bamajim
Thanks for the reply :P When trying to download the service pack I received the following error message 'The Product Key used to install Windows is invalid. Please contact your system administrator or retailer immediately to obtain a valid Product Key. You may also contact Microsoft Corporation's Anti-Piracy Team by emailing [removed] if you think you have purchased pirated Microsoft software. Please be assured that any personal information you send to the Microsoft Anti-Piracy Team will be kept in strict confidence.' What does this mean ? Sorry Im new to this. Thanks
ginkara

It could mean that there is something wrong with the Windows installation that you have.
If it is the Installation, (operating System) that came on the PC you may need your Operating System disk that came with the PC.
If you purchased Windows XP from a retailer, you may need to contact them.

However, the first step is to follow the instructions at this LINK

then reply if I can help

thanks bamajim
