Securing Your PC After An Attack
You already have one.

Just be sure to keep it updated.

I beleive this carp** get's spread via a malicious active-x component.

Try fixing any security holes in your browser here:

Jason's Toolbox

Other items to help guard against infection can be found at the link below.

I've worked logs with this same infection, and every type of antivirus imaginable available, so switching antivirus would do you no good, IMO.

As far as I know, NONE of the antivirus packages available will remove this infection. It takes the special procedures we have done here to get rid of it.

It appears you may have TWO firewalls running, Norton and Zone Alarm:

O23 - Service: Norton AntiVirus Firewall Monitor Service (NPFMntor) - Symantec Corporation - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\IWP\NPFMntor.exe

O23 - Service: TrueVector Internet Monitor (vsmon) - Zone Labs, LLC - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe

That's not recommended.

It is recommended that you have only ONE antivirus and firewall running.

Thank you for choosing TomCoyote for your malware removal solutions.
