Virus Burst is gone and the rest of your log looks good  Is there other people in your household using this computer when your not around that could be downloading this garbage?? As far as Flash Player, there is one or more programs on your system that may be interfering with this, Open HJT > Misc Tools > Uninstall Manager and click on Save List, post the list in this thread. Also keep following the advice of Dough. Ken :D

No bad programs that I can see but you do have ton of them. Don't know if I mentioned this before, but I went through a brief period myself with a few programs not running or responding.

That happened to me about a year ago, I went through all the programs I had installed on my system and uninstalled about 10 of them that I never used and I was then able to install Adobe Flash, something on your system is preventingi it from working.

You need to go over your Add-Remove programs in your control panel and any program that you are not using or dont think you ever will, you need to give it the boot.

myspace and a xanga <–Wouldn't want this stuff on my pc. My hearts out to ya, no teenagers in my house to mess up my system. The programs themselves are not bad but the things they can download from there is frightning. :rant2:

Ken :D
thanks for all of your helps - popups and spyware all gone - but i do have instances - when i'm in yahoo mail - where my IE browser just turns off … it's very annoying… any idea what could lead to that - i still have my flash problems but the solutions offered so far involve reducing my hard drives to considerably less than they are right now and i'm not equipped to take care of that now … rachel
Rachel,

Lets do a few things.
  • Click Start>Run
  • Type in sfc /scannow, hit Enter.
  • Note: there is a space between sfc and /scannow
  • This should replace any corrupted/missing system files and will hopefully fix things.
You may need your XP disc in your CD drive for this.

Close any instance of Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
  • Go to Start> Control Panel> Internet Options . You shoud be on the General Tab
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Files > and offline content as well
  • Then go to the Programs Tab and Reset Web Settings

Then post a new HJT log and lets see if something came back. You have to remember that Malware is short for Malicious ware and the lowlife that write this garbage could care less what it does to your system and you where pretty heavily infected at first.

Ken :D
i'm trying to do the first part and i've received the message : files that are required for windows to run properly must be copied to the DLL Cache insert your windows xp home edition cd now so - i put in the one i have which is the one that came w/my dell pc but it doesn't seem to be acknowledging the disc … though the start up screen for the disc came up – asking me what i wanted to do w/the disc… i'm lost now edit - i just put the disc in the dvd rom drive instead of the cd rom drive and it seems to be working…..

rachel :D

I am not looking at any malware on your system, just a lot of clutter.

I would suggest you unintall your keylogger and see if it makes a difference,

Added by the Spyware.Systemsurv surveillance software. Spyware.Systemsurv is a program which monitors keystrokes, Web sites visited and IM conversations. Screenshots can also be captured, which can be triggered on specific keywords. The name in the registry can be any of the following values: Perm_Sys2, JmpRes, SysConn_Start, TMPINI34, Inet_Perf, and Almondrv.

These are clutter, look them over and remove the ones you don't need.

Ken :D
i don't want to delete the surveillance software… i paid $$ for it … one of the joys of having a 14 yr old in the house… ive done the others suggested and will let you know how it goes this lack of flash though is making us all nuts Rachel
Rachel,

You mentioned before that you looked in the Adobe forum and that it was slow, here are some forums that I was active on that are not slow, there the fastest forums around . Whatever forum you post to, be sure you let them know that you posted at Tom Coyote, that you did have some infections but that now your system is clean. With these forums, you will get a reply.

This is one of the best windows forums on the internet Post in either the XP or Other Software forum .
Windows Helpnet <– Excellent XP Forum

This is a great forum where I was active on a few years ago when I was a system builder. Applications Software looks like a good forum to post in.
Hardwareguys <– Another good one

I will keep this thread open for you for a week or so in case you need to post back.

Ken :D
thanks again for your help - the only one that replied to me was at windows helpnet and they decided they can't help me - there were a couple of posts on the other board but nothing that really helped so i'm still where i started from - though free of spyware and for that i thank you — at least i have flash on mozilla firefox
Rachael, :D

Your most welcome, Glad we got you cleaned up.

so i'm still where i started from - though free of spyware and for that
i thank you —

This is a better browser anyway, I use it almost 99% of the time.

at least i have flash on mozilla firefox

Ken :D
usually firefox is good- though i don't understand why the flash works through firefox and not seamonkey also - i do often get thrown out - specifically when in yahoo mail
Rachael,

also - i do often get thrown out - specifically when in yahoo mail <–are you referring to being thrown offline ?? If you are it may have to do with your ISP. Don't know what your on, dial up or broadband, you may want to give them a call and let them know, they may be able to help you.

I may have mentioned it earlier but the people that write all this malware garbage write very poor computer code and sometimes even when the bad stuff is removed from your system, it may at times leave a little damage behind.

Since this forum is for the removal of malware and you are now clean, I won't be able to help you any longer. I hope that you resolve your issue soon.

I will leave this thread open for you for a few weeks in case you need any more direction as far as support forums and such.
