Welcome to the forum :wavey:

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!
Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [startkey] C:\WINDOWS\system32\server.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [stonedrv] c:\windows\system32\stonedrv.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [startkey] C:\WINDOWS\system32\server.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [shell] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00003.exe"

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WinMedia] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxvwqajd.exe3072.exe

Then click "Fix checked".

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Find and delete:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\server.exe <— file

c:\windows\system32\stonedrv.exe <— file

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00003.exe <— file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxvwqajd.exe3072.exe <— file

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis! log file into this thread. :)
Thanks Micah
This is the log after what you have asked me to do.
The files below I could not find to delete. I have shown hidden files.

c:\windows\system32\stonedrv.exe <— file

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00003.exe <— file

The following in HJL I have fixed in Hijack This but it still shows in the log but it says no registry key when I look up the information about in in the HJL.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WinMedia] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxvwqajd.exe3072.exe

My computer seems to be running faster but I feel there is still something there.

Thanks :wavey:

Please download/unzip this:

Registry Search 2.0 by Bobbi Flekman © 2005

on regsearch.exe, and search for this:

dxvwqajd

[external image: Posted Image] Make sure ALL the boxes are checked under "Search".

It may take a while to run, so be patient. When finished, the search results will appear in your text editor,

Paste the contents of the search results into your next post.
:)
Micah sorry for the delay. Just popped up to shops. As you requested REGEDIT4 ; Registry Search 2.0 by Bobbi Flekman © 2005 ; Version: 2.0.1.0 ; Results at 30/08/2006 12:27:57 PM for strings: ; 'dxvwqajd ' ; Strings excluded from search: ; (None) ; Search in: ; Registry Keys Registry Values Registry Data ; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE HKEY_USERS ; End Of The Log…
I just noticed this:

File C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxvwqajd.exe3072.exe not found!
Deletion of file C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxvwqajd.exe3072.exe failed!

Let's verify that.

Copy the text in the following quote box into Notepad:

dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxv*.* /ah > files.txt
dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxv*.* >> files.txt
notepad files.txt

Save it to your desktop as ff.bat

Now, the ff.bat file on the desktop. A Notepad window will open up.

Please paste it's contents into your next post.
Is this right Micah. It is exactly the same as what you asked me to copy. dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxv*.* /ah > files.txt dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxv*.* >> files.txt notepad files.txt
MY BAD!!!

CLOSE NOTEPAD!!!

Now, the ff.bat file on the desktop. A Notepad window will open up.

Please paste it's contents into your next post.
Not quite right…

If you CLOSE NOTEPAD, NOT "MINIMIZE" - CLOSE IT , you will get a list that looks something like this:

Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 304E-C1B1

Directory of C:\WINDOWS\system32

Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 304E-C1B1
