slow start of my computer due to virus

booting takes long time and avg detects trojan horse generic.zdz but cannot fix.In addition adware.psguard cannot be quarintined as well access denied.Please help to delete the items from hijack this log.Here is my log file

Welcome to the forum :wavey:

Disable SpySweeper:
You have SpySweeper installed. While this is a great program, we need to temporarily disable (not uninstall) the program because it might stop our fix.
  • Open it click >Options over to the left then >program options>Uncheck "load at windows startup"
  • Over to the left click "shields" and uncheck all there.
  • Uncheck" home page shield".
  • Uncheck ''automatically restore default without notification".
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable SpySweeper again.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Delete all of the following noted (in red) file(s)/FOLDER(s) you can find:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\wvsvc.exe <— file

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis! log file into this thread. :)

I have done the same but still my computer takes long time to boot.While booting it shows the following message: AVG Resident Shield Virus detected ie C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mzh.exe.The name of the virus is Trojan Horse Generic.ZdZ. While deleting or putting this virus into Vault, action is denied.Secondly,after a scan with Ewido, another pest called Adware.Psguard is detected but says error while quarantining.Please help.Here is the latest log file of Hijack This

Download Killbox from here:

Killbox.zip © Option^Explicit

Unzip it.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Now, run Killbox.

In Killbox select "Delete on Reboot".

Paste the next line into the "Full Path of File to Delete" text box.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mzh.exe

Click the red dot with the white X in it, in the upper right of Killbox, then click "Yes", and "Yes" again.

When the machine reboots, "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)

This time while rebooting I did not see the AVG Shield message.The file is removed but I have not gained start speed.It is same slow start.Here is the log file.Do I need to remove anything else.

Delete this folder:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
Close the program.

Running ATF Cleaner clears many "temp files" made by Windows.

I'm hoping this will increase your boot speed.

The machine may boot a bit slower the first 2 or 3 times after running it, then should level out.

You really don't have many "non-essential" programs running at boot time that we can turn off.

Are you still getting the "Adware.Psguard" message from Ewido?

I still have the Adware.Psguard every time I scan with ewido.It does not allow to quarantine the object,says error while quarantining.

These are registry entries. 1)HKLM/Software/ShudderLTD/PSGuard 2)HKLM/Software/ShudderLTD/PSGuard/PSGuard 3)HKLM/Software/ShudderLTD However,the problem of slow start still continues.Meanwhile it is better to let you know that while booting the following anti virus software also start and remain untill I log off.Closing of windows also takes little time 1)AVG 2)Zone Alarm 3)Spy Sweeper 4)Ewido Sir I take this time to thank you for all the patience and time you took to help me out. You have it 3 times, with a at the end of the first two, it appears.

Copy and paste the contents of the quote box below into notepad.

Save it as file name: "fixme.reg" (not including the quotes). Save as file type: *All files* and save it on your Desktop.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ShudderLTD]


Then, locate fixme.reg on your desktop and it.

You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?".

Answer 'Yes' and wait for a message to appear similar to "Merged Successfully".

Reboot.

Run the registry search again.

Search for ShudderLTD once more.

It should come back with nothing found.

sir I still find the ShudderLTD in my registry entry inspite of doing the above procedure.Except this I don't have any virus I guess but still my computer boots up slow.please advise.
