Hi,

Firstly, thanks for any help you can give me.

For about two weeks, I have been receiving popups from Ewido saying it has detected a suspicious file on my computer named: Trojan.Dialer.qy The files it says are infected are in C:\WINDOWS\TEMP and are named iddxxx.tmp.exe with the xxx being a diferent combination of letters and numbers each time. I have always clicked on clean and move to quarantine, but the popups still persist. I have deleted all files from this directory.

I have also just started receiving popups for Dialer.InstantAccess.k, for files in the same folder named win18F.tmp.exe.

I have installed Ad-Aware and Spybot and done safe mode scans for both.

Hopefully someone can help,

Many thanks.

Mike.

Here is my HJT log…

Hi,

Thanks for replying.

I have carried out your instructions. I couldn't find the two folders, or dexplore.dll. I did find wingdm32.dll, but couldn't delete it in normal or safe modes.

Whilst typing this, ewido has flashed up with trojan.dialer.qy again.

Thanks again for your help,

Mike.

Download Killbox from here:

Killbox.zip © Option^Explicit

Unzip it, but don't run it yet.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O20 - Winlogon Notify: wingdm32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wingdm32.dll

Then click "Fix checked" & close Hijack This!

Now, run Killbox.

In Killbox select "Delete on Reboot".

Paste the next line into the "Full Path of File to Delete" text box.

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wingdm32.dll

Click the red dot with the white X in it, in the upper right of Killbox, then click "Yes", and "Yes" again.

When the machine reboots, "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)

P.S. - There will be a few more posts required to completely "clean" your machine.
Again, thank you.

Followed instructions, and wingdm32.dll is gone.

Hi,

I have just done an ewido scan and it says I have got Trojan.Pakes and Dialer.InstantAccess.k Do you have any advice about removing these?

I have quarantined both instances.

Many thanks AGAIN!
