BUMP! Sorry that I did not give the info on what my comp was doing to bring me here! I have been using Spycatcher and avast with zoneal;arm free firewall! Bought this thing used and after getting on the net before or while loading updates and precautions it starting freezing up! Not all the time just at the most inopprotune moments like in poker tournies ! I have updated security at windows then made the fatal error of a reg scan free, and it has been worse not the freezing as it is the same just the loading of firefox or explorer or opening anything takes forever and winds the processor to capacity all the time! All bs aside I am a newbie with just enough knowledge and curiosity to get myself in trouble! May I please get some help!
Hello and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the reply!! Here is the new log! I am running a P3! I downloaded the ATF cleaner and cleared up some major space! My fear is I have registry issues! Very slow to start any programs! In the winnt file internet logs I clicked a file that opens with word pad and it says it's in use errror and then i had a plethora of open with fill the screen till the comp frooze! It just seems to me that there is something running that I have no control what so ever over and that's when it will freeze up! The processor is always running at critical mass at the start of any program! Also I had a run as dll in the zonealarm program control as well as I shut down mobsync and internat.exe through task manager! Hey again thanks for the reply and any help would be greatly appreciated! I am on a fixed income due to injury at work so I can't even afford to buy floopies to use the wndows reg repair tool available! At least not for another week and a half!
Also when I try to do anything in dos it says I am not logged on as administrator and when I run chkdsk it says it all good LOL!

Ok new HJT log without using the task manager to shut things down at start! Spycatcher blocked my first attemp at changing the ro's so I shut it down and ran it again then fixed the one ro that came up again! Again comp was slow to load even HJT and in the task manager the explorer.exe was runnning when Iwas trying to open HJT but shut down when it opened! Not sure what else you are looking for as far as how it is acting at the moment! TY again!!

lets see if this will help speed it up.

Backup your Registry…
- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run…)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL

I recommend you download RegSeeker. Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Run it again and again, deleting everything it finds until it finds nothing. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.

NOTE: To be extra safe you can choose to only remove the items in RED.
Hello again! I followed your instuctions as close as I could! When I went to regedit and hit export there was no export range of "all"!!!!!! Is this normal? I downloaded regseeker and there were over a 150 bad or invalid path of files deleted all took three tries to complete! There are 18 invalid add\remove entries but some are updates what should be done with these? Also in the HJT what about the APP_DLLs it says that it it's most likely a trojan that loads early and is very hard to get rid of!!! It still takes explorer 50 secs to open along with anything else like my comp, contro panel etc…… I don't think that this is normal even for a P3!!! After all is said and done here is a new HJT log! P.S. I ran a startup list would that help, it looks scary!!!!!!!!

Good day to you again! Okay, after some research I decided to dump Spycatcher Express so in response I opted for adaware and spybot s&d! I posted a query on "other computer problems forum" and was informed that I should finish this first and that the problem that I have, can be addressed here as well! Here Is the new log!

I don't see anything else bad in your log, but lets give Ewido a try.

First download ewido anti-spyware from HERE and save that file to your
desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program
  • Once you have downloaded ewido anti-spyware, locate the icon on the desktop
and double-click it to launch the set up program.
  • Once the setup is complete you will need run ewido and update the definition
    files.
  • On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "
    Update now
    " link.
    • Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a
progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  • Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of
the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
  • Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then
    select ""Quarantine".".
  • Under "Reports"
    • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
    • Un-Select "Only if threats were found"
Close ewido anti-spyware, Do Not run a scan just yet, we will shortly.
  • Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting
your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears.

Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or
programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:
  • Lauch ewido-anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  • Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab
then click on "Complete System Scan".
  • ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little
    time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
  • If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all
    actions
    "
  • Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
  • Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the
screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where
you saved that file, this is important).
  • Close ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the
results of the ewido report scan along with a new HijackThis log.
That is now out of the way! There were just 3 med tracking cookies from mozilla! ——————————————————— ewido anti-spyware - Scan Report ——————————————————— + Created at: 9:01:54 PM 26/08/2006 + Scan result: :mozilla.11:C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\iktar3nd.default\cookies.txt -> TrackingCookie.2o7 : No action taken. :mozilla.29:C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\iktar3nd.default\cookies.txt -> TrackingCookie.2o7 : No action taken. :mozilla.12:C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\iktar3nd.default\cookies.txt -> TrackingCookie.Com : No action taken. ::Report end I didn't delete them! Well what next sir!
Everything looks good in your HJT log. The freezing up could be a number of things from hardware to software. You can go back to your post in "other computer problems forum" and see if they can help.
