[freestyle]

Computer running a little slow lately, downloaded HJT to see if any Bad Guys might be in it. It might be my service provider, i just want to make sure though. Will appreciate someone looking at it.

Hi freestyle

Please print, or copy and paste this text into a Notepad file and place it on your desktop, to review as you work. Please proceed with this fix in the order provided below.

Hijack This does not see everything, so it is a good idea to run some online Virus scanners and run Ewido. Be sure to see Tony Kleins link below and get those FREE PROTECTION PROGRAMS. Running both Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D is something else that should be done regularly. Be sure to update all, every time before running these programs.

Your Hijack This log looks clean.

I notice you are still running SP1, so this would be a good time to go to Microsoft and download SP2. Then, go back as many times as necessary to get critical updates, until you have them all.

Updating Java

• Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 8.
• Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
• Click the "Download" button to the right.
• Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
• The page will refresh.
• Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
• Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
• Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
• Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
• Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
• Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
• Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
• Then from your desktop double-click on jre-1_5_0_08-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.
