It seems fine….however, I hadn't had any popups or trojan warning since I uninstalled Norton. Since Kaspersky was the only virus scan program to pick anything up after Norton was removed, I'm running another scan to see if it detects any remains of the previous viruses/trojans.

On another note, during my inital troubleshooting, I deleted a .dll file that was throught to be infected. So now every time I reboot, I get an error that update.exe could not be found. I'm not sure what program it was attached to, but it does not seem to be affecting my day to day runnings. I'll troubleshoot that later, once I clear up the virus/trojan issue.

The files you see in Kaspersky are nothing to worry about
The first one's are false positives, the others in System Restore we will deal with when we are done

Open NotePad (Not wordpad)
Copy and paste the following (making sure there is no space between the top of the window and the first line)

regedit /e peek.txt HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer\run 

notepad peek.txt

Click File->>Save as->> type in look.bat ->> Under "Save as type" Select All Files ->> Save it to your Desktop

The look.bat file should now appear on your Desktop

Double click it, copy and paste the contents of notepad when it pops open.

Open Notepad (Not Wordpad)
Copy and paste the following into notepad
(Making sure there is no space between the top of the window and the first line)

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer\run]
After you caopy and paste it your cursor should be at the end of the first line
Hit Enter so your cursor is under the last lineClick File->>Save as->>type in fix.reg->>
Under "Save as type" Select "All Files"->> save it to your Desktop
The fix.reg file should now appear on your Desktop

Rt Click and Select merge (it will appear that nothing has happened but that's o.k.)

Next Using Windows Explorer

Locate and delete the following file (if found)
C:\Program Files\Common Files\{7C19FB36-063A-1033-0518-050001}
Reboot your PC and see if you still get the error

Re run Hijackthis and check the following entriesR3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

Close all other open Windows except Hijackthis and Select "Fix checked"

Next Using Windows Explorer
Locate and delete the following folderC:\Programs Files\Common\{7C19FB36-063A-1033-0518-050001}
And in your reply let me know if that folder was there

When you look for the folder, and say it's not there are you using Windows search or Windows Explorer?

Also We need to make sure we can see hidden files and foldersClick Start.
Click My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known file types.
Click OK.
