Hi all,

I recently had a problem with a virus that AVG found called Clicker.fr. It would seemingly replicate itself every 5 minutes. I would heal it and it came back again and again.
After scanning I also noticed a DNSChanger infection.

I ran CWShredder, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Ewido and then AVG (set to scan all files). I booted into Safe Mode and re ran all the scans and then ran HJT and also saved the Ewido log.

Here's what I have:

Ewido reported nothing found.

I noticed that the DNS in fact had been changed so I put it back to acquire DNS automatically.

thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum :wavey:

Please download FixWareout from one of these links:

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{AEA46319-F094-45F2-B646-E33B7B8635DE}: NameServer = 85.255.113.148,85.255.112.203

Then click "Fix checked" and close Hijack This!.

* Run Fixwareout on the desktop.
* Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
* The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
* You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
* Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
* Once the desktop loads a text will open (report.txt). We'll need that in a bit.

"Copy/paste" a new HijackThis! log file into this thread. :)

Also open this file with Notepad:

C:\fixwareout\report.txt

And paste it's contents into your next post.

:)

What does it do? The unit always ran very well. Fast, no immediate slowdowns, no browser hijacks. It was the AVG that popped up the warning that made me examine the system. How many people check the properties of the TCP/IP to see if the DNS was changed…? hmmm, maybe I should start, eh? But, thanks very much Micah, the Spyware Warrior.
