Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Hi and thanks for your help.

Have posted the new log below.

My PC seems to be taking a long time on start up and is usually very quick. I have broadband but sometimes it is so slow it feels like dial up and then occasionally I cant get online at all. Also keep getting this blue screen that comes up saying 'if it is the first time you have seen this screen restart your computer if not check for newly downloaded programs that may be incomplete, I cant do anything to get out of this screen and then have to unplug the PC and restart.

Lets update your Java.

Update Java
  • Go to Start » Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs.
  • Search for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment…. )
It should have this icon next to it: [external image: Posted Image]
  • Click that entry and then click on the Change/Remove button.
  • Then download and install the newest version of Java from here.

Keep me informed as to how it's going.
