Yes……I have deleted the Line relating to Vcleanup.exe which is Mcafee but the lines relating to my internet service provider are still there.
Hello Alan01,

Please read the following:

I believe that those entries need to be fixed with hijackthis as I posted to you above:
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_UNS_1] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1\KitAIM\
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [VcCleanUp.exe] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\VcCleanUp.exe /F C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\SYMANT~1\LiveReg\ /RemoveAll
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_BMP] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1\KitAIM\bitmap.bmp
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_HLP] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1\KitAIM\AIMHlp.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_UNS] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1\KitAIM\UNS_0a00.ini
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_LOG] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1\KitAIM\Install.log
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_XDes] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1\KitAIM\Uninstal.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_XDes2] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_XDes1] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1\KitAIM

Checking the item with hijackthis will not delete the KitAdslAIM*** applications but the registry entry which references the xdesifv.exe

It will not hurt to try this because you have the ability to correct it if I am wrong!

How to restore items mistakenly deleted

If the configuration setting Make backups before fixing items is checked, HijackThis will make a backup of any entries that you fix in a directory called backups that resides in the same location as Hijackthis.exe.
If you start HijackThis and click on Config, and then the Backup button you will be presented with a screen shot like Figure 6 below. You will have a listing of all the items that you had fixed previously and have the option of restoring them. Once you restore an item that is listed in this screen, upon scanning again with HijackThis, the entries will show up again.

====================================
My reasoning is based upon studying other logs.
There are no entries like yours in these logs yet they have the following entry like you do
C:\Archivos de programa\Telefonica\KitAIM\AimMon.exe
http://www.trucoswindows.net/foro/topico-3…hijackthis.html
http://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/affic…-log-hijackthis
I am not asking you to delete the following entry: C:\Program Files\Telefonica\KitAIM\AimMon.exe
We deeply appreciate donations to this site. I try to help all victims the same whether they donated or not. Did you follow my advice? I have given you supporting information to back up my reasons for fixes which I normally never do. Are you still having problems? Will you post (reply) with the latest hijackthis log?
I have deleted the following files with Hijack This about 20 times but they keep re-appearing:
4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [KitAdslAim15_UNS_1] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\xdesifv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TELEFO~1\KitAIM\
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [VcCleanUp.exe] C:\DOCUME~1\Alan\LOCALS~1\Temp\VcCleanUp.exe /F C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\SYMANT~1\LiveReg\ /RemoveAll

Pardon the interruption. Error Killer has been added to our ad filtering list, and reported to Google (our ad server). We apologize for the inconvenience, and greatly regret any money you spent on this rogue program. :( Please feel free to PM me with any comments or concerns.
Dear Susan… I appreciate all your help……. ok, time to clear up a couple of items on this thread, number one, Error Killer has now been added to the filter to not show on TC anymore and reported to Google. Alan01: As Susan528 has said, we deeply appreciate the donations to the site, and since you are probably not familiar with forum software nor what a signature is, I will elaborate for a moment, a signature in a forum post is text and images that will be shown with the user's every post, the text you read multiple times in Susan528's posts about the help you recieved here and the link to the donations is part of her signature and therefore part of every post she makes, she is not attempting to squeeze more money out of you each time she replies, that text is automatic and at the bottom of every post she makes (signatures are standard across many forums). I hope this helps you understand this a bit better and if you follow Susan528's advice, I am sure you will leave here with a clean computer and a bit more knowledge about your computer.
Hello alan01,

Let's try to disable SpySweeper and see if it was preventing the hijackthis fixes.

Update Your Java
Update your Java to the latest version.
  • Uninstall any and all versions you have listed in add/remove programs
  • Install the latest version from here: http://www.java.com/en/
Disable SpySweeper:
You have SpySweeper installed. While this is a great program, we need to temporarily disable (not uninstall) the program because it might stop our fix.
  • Open it click >Options over to the left then >program options>Uncheck "load at windows startup"
  • Over to the left click "shields" and uncheck all there.
  • Uncheck" home page shield".
  • Uncheck ''automatically restore default without notification".
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable SpySweeper again.

Scan with HijackThis. Place a check against each of the following:

Close all windows or browsers except for Hijackthis. Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Post (reply) with a fresh HijackThis log and we will take another look.
Well it seems to have done the trick (fingers crossed) It has also seemed to cure my shutdown and restart problem or would this be to do with Spysweeper being disabled. Should I re-enable the Hijack This sheild in Spysweeper or leave it as it is.

Hi alan01,

I am glad Blair and Coyote replied. I apologize for the confusion with error killer. I also hope that you did not think I was trying to squeeze donations from you. I have no way of knowing who donated and did not.

Be sure to reboot before re-enabling SpySweeper. It is a good application and we take advantage of its free trial to help victims remove malware from their computers. I am not sure what you mean about the "Hijack This sheild" but I believe we are done using hijackthis to fix things.

You still need to update your java - please see the instructions in previous post.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe"

I would like to see the following:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_07\bin\jusched.exe

Please run this Kapersky scan and let me check the results. I believe we are close to finishing.
Now run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
  • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
  • Standard
  • Scan Options:
  • Scan Archives
  • Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:
  • Select My Computer
  • This will program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information from Kapersky in your next post.

Please also post (reply) with a fresh hijackthis log. How is you computer running now?
