Spy Agent BC, Browser Hijacker

Hi, My McAfee virus scanner has given me a message that I have a trojan called Spy Agent BC, but it can't delete it. What do I do to get rid of it and check my computer for others like it? Can I prevent it from coming back? Also when I use IE, type a web address in the window and hit enter it takes me to a search engine address. I have to press enter three or four times before I can get to the page I was trying to go to. Can you help me with this? And lastly, my computer is behaving very erratically, hanging occasionaly, being very slow to respond sometimes and generally being a pain in the behind. Could this be related to unwanted visitors? I have the following gear installed and running; McAfee Virus, Spybot, Adware SE Personal(free) & Registry Mechanic. For some reason Ad Ware SE won't run for the full duration of the scan. It used to run properly. Could the Spy Agent be stopping it? Hoping from some relief from fustration.

Welcome to the forum :wavey:

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Download HijackThis into this folder.

Run it from that folder.
Click "Do a system scan and save a log file".

DO NOT "FIX" ANYTHING WITH IT YET!!!
FIXING THE WRONG THING COULD RENDER YOUR SYSTEM INOPERABLE!!!


Reply to this thread, and "copy/paste" the ENTIRE CONTENTS of the log file into this thread.

Please download FixWareout from one of these links:

Save it to your desktop.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

* Run fixwareout on the desktop.
* Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
* The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
* You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
* Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
* Once the desktop loads a text will open (report.txt). We'll need that in a bit.

Post:

1. A new HijackThis! log.

2. Open C:\fixwareout\report.txt, and post it's contents.

Did as you requested but did not get a report file open after start up. Got some prompts during start up saying that the fix was happening. Is the report stored somewhere or do I have to run the program again?

The latest version out is jre1.5.0_07

After updating you must remove previous versions via "Add/Remove Programs".
