I had yieldx spyware installed on my PC (not intentionally), I have used various cleaners to remove most of the spyware etc.. but I still get random pop-ups that start off with http://ad.yieldx.com….. but that quickly changes ad loads an advert. I have used ad-aware, spybot, ccleaner and microsofts windows defender to remove the bulk of the problem and those scans now come up clean with 0 problems. But I am still getting pop ups when not surfing the net at all. Even working offline they try to pop up but dont load due to no net connection.

The only thing in the log I am unsure of is 'lstrsvc_put.exe' near the end.

Please help, those pesky pop up's are annoying.

Many Thanks
James
So far I have managed to stop these pop-ups by adding ad.yieldx.com to the restricted sites list in IE's securtiy settings. Still, I think some kind of trojan, virus or spyware is still lurking somewhere on the pc.
Poison3k :D Welcome to Tom Coyote, sorry about the delay in responding but we are, as we are at most times just overwhemed with logs. You have a few things going on that need to be addressed. Your HJT log is a week old and your system may have changed so run HJT and post a new log please. Ken :D

Hello James, Before we begin, look at your Last HJT log down at the bottom at the 023 entries. Are these something that you installed and use ???? Dont remove them yet. O23 - Service: Marketplace Listener (svcListener) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\lstrsvc.exe O23 - Service: Marketplace Listener Upload Engine (svcListener_put) - Unknown owner - Ken :D
At first I wasn't sure, but after a spot of investigation they are essential files. They are part of a stock market tool used within our client program called 'Quantum Control'.
James, :D

Thats good to know, I wasnt finding much info on it.

James
James,

I need to see the Ewido Report.

A few questions

1. Domain = ajwdomain <– Do you know about and use this domain.

2.
This is in reference to Flashget download manager, you can read this and decide for your self if you want to remove it, if you do you can remove it via the Add-Remove programs in the Control Panel, if you do, remove these entries with HJT.

FlashGet download manager - the trial bundles Cydoor adware, but when you register the ads disappear
FlashGet is an advertisement supported software application used to increase
Internet based file download speed. This adware acts as a Browser Helper Object (BHO), which may occasionally cause the Internet Explorer to crash.

BHOs are programs installed unknowingly on affected systems. They are designed to run automatically every system startup to monitor user activity.

O2 - BHO: IeCatch5 Class - {2F364306-AA45-47B5-9F9D-39A8B94E7EF7} - C:\PROGRA~1\FlashGet\jccatch.dll

O3 - Toolbar: FlashGet Bar - {E0E899AB-F487-11D5-8D29-0050BA6940E3} - C:\PROGRA~1\FlashGet\fgiebar.dll

O9 - Extra button: FlashGet - {D6E814A0-E0C5-11d4-8D29-0050BA6940E3} - C:\PROGRA~1\FlashGet\flashget.exe
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: &FlashGet - {D6E814A0-E0C5-11d4-8D29-0050BA6940E3} - C:\PROGRA~1\FlashGet\flashget.exe

3. These two 023 entries and letting executable files run as a system service. Its legit if you know about it.

O23 - Service: SCTThresholdMonitor (SCTThresholdMon) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit\bin\SRVANY.EXE
O23 - Service: WDPOperations - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit\bin\SRVANY.EXE

Ken :D
Thanks again Ken, your a star. I am now on a different PC so I will have to post the ewido report later. 1. ajw is the company I work for and that is the name of our domain. 2. I didn't know that about FlashGet, I think I will be removing this later. 3. This is going to be removed soon as we installed just to try it out. James
OK James, Sometimes things show up on Ewido that dont show up on your HJT log. So after you remove what you want to remove, post the Ewido report and a new HJT log. Ken
