Siggyx…thanks very much for the reply and instructions. I followed your instructions to the letter, so I thought, but after scanning with ewido and clicking on the Reports icon at the top of the page, there were no saved reports. I obviously messed up the setup. However, the good news is I am no longer, so far, being hijacked from selected pages in Yahoo! to the Yahoo! search pages as before. I'm hoping this continues! Again, thanks for the help. I've saved your instructions in case this "calamity" befalls me again. Hin11
Hi Siggyx, Well, everything was going well until I tried to read email on Yahoo! I was asked to login, of course, and when I did I was sent to the same Yahoo! search page that I was having trouble with before I started this thread. The url in the address box is: view(dot)atdmt(dot)com As I said, I wasn't being hijacked as I read various news stories from my Yahoo! home page (since I followed your directions re: Hoster and ewido) but as soon as I went to check my Yahoo! email, the page was hijacked. Any ideas? Run the instructions below again? Thanks, Hin11
Well, it's started again. :o  I'm being hijacked to the url in post #5 from the Yahoo! home page. Standing by for words from you, Siggyx.
OK Siggyx…I've been locked in at work, but it's Friday and time to attack this hijacker again if you'll help.

I'll follow up with the Ewido log

Thanks!
You can have hijackthis remove this line R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {6CC1C918-AE8B-4373-A5B4-28BA1851E39A} - (no file) How is it running?
The Ewido report is "Nothing Found" so I guess posting the same isn't productive. I'm glad nothing was found, but the hijacking is continuing. Hopefully by removing the line you identified in the post just prior to this, we'll have beaten this thing. I'll report back in a minute. Hin11
Well, no luck. I logged into Yahoo!, opened up my email page and right away got hijacked by doubleclick.com. I removed the line you suggested, did another HiJack this to be sure it was gone and then did the Yahoo! login. Hin11
Step # 1

Please download and run CWShredder. Make sure that all browser windows are closed with the exception of Cwshredder and choose FIX.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?…7fd6b3ff02edc90

REBOOT

Step #2

Please download and run Spybot 1.4 & AdAware SE Then follow the instructions in the link below to run.

Spybot & Adaware Tutorial

REBOOT

Step # 3

Then do a virus scan here >>> Trend Micro

Reboot and post a new HiJackThis log.

I will be out of town for a few days and will not be able to respond.
OK, Siggyx, I followed the directions above. I cleaned several malware infections with Housecall…thanks for pointing that out to me. Here's the HiJackthis log and after posting it I'll try the browser again and see if everythings cleared up.

I'll be damned. The thing is still in there hijacking Yahoo!. As soon as I try to log into my email module, ad.doubleclick.net shows up in the search section of the Yahoo! toolbar and takes me to a search page. I'm going to delete that toolbar and see what happens, though I don't have a lot of hope for that solution. Hin11
Hi Hin11 :wavey:

Siggy will be gone for a few days.

Let me see if I can help.

This similar problem happened to me yesterday. I started getting popups from ad.insightexpress.com

Here's how I stopped them:

Navigate and open this file using Notepad:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\hosts

Towards the bottom of that file, there's a line that looks like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost

Make another copy beneath it that looks like this:

127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net

Now, you hosts file will look like this, at the bottom:

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net

Save it.

I see you have Norton products. So do I.

So, I went into Norton Internest Security, and told it to block the offending IP address.

Yours, in this case will be:

[removed]

After blocking that with Norton, reboot.

See if your problem persists.

If for some reason you cannot get online, or view any web pages, just undo these changes.
