I did have the puper trojan and got no response in 5 days as well. I believe I got rid of that but also got the Zlob downloader. Can someone plz help?

I guess Im getting no xxxxx help. Thanx for nothing.

We have users that have been waiting longer then you have. BTW, we do this for free on our own time. But we do this for those who are greatful for the help without being cursed at.

I apologize for cursing. My life sux and now so does my brand new XPS 400 computer. I have the zlob downloader and I really need help getting rid of this. That is awesome you guys do this for free and it is much appreciated. If you dont want to help thats fine. I didnt realize by posting after my 1st post makes it look like I was replied to. Sorry.

I did a little edit on your post. One of the Admin might ban you anyway.


Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.


(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time..


Download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES.
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Turn your computer back on. Please reboot your computer.
  • Please post a new HijackThis logusing the Add Reply Button below.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HijackThis log.

ADD FILES:

* Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
* You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK

* Once the scan is complete, Right Click inside the listbox (white box) and click add more files
* Copy&Paste the 2 entries below into the top 2 boxes

* Click Add Files and Click Close Window
* Click the Remove Vundo button.
* You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
* Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
* Turn your computer back on.
* Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

LDTate Im truly sorry for my attitude and is mighty big of you to still help me. Thank you so much. I ran ATF cleaner, it cleanded up some files. I ran VundoFix, it found nothing. So I clicked run as task, it said it will close and reopen. I did it twice and it never reopened, however it created an app icon on my desktop without the vundo icon, icon is just a generic app.

You need To disable TeaTimer, it can stop our fix.

1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts



Next, launch Notepad (Start>All Programs>Accessories), and copy/paste all the BOLD REGEDIT below to it. Don't forget to include REGEDIT4.
Save in: Desktop
File Name: fixme.reg
Save as Type: All files
Click: Save

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\winbug32.dll]

On the desktop, doubleclick fix.reg and allow it to run. Let it merge.



Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe

O20 - Winlogon Notify: winbug32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winbug32.dll

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"


Delete this File if listed:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winbug32.dll




Empty Recycle Bin

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

k…..I did exactly what you wrote, however i was unable to delete this —–> winbug32.dll.

It is write-protected. Should I go safe mode and delete it?

Click on Open Misc Tools
Click on Delete a File On Reboot
Click once on the file below to select it:

Click on the Back button to exit Process Manager

Alright…….I disable tea timer and followed your instructions verbatim. I also was getting an about:blank on my IE explorer homepage, so I changed it to dell.com and things seem to be working better. I also cleared out cookies files and history to be safe.

In Add/Remove programs click on these and press *remove* if listed:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2 - 143.00Mb
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 - 144.00Mb
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5- 151.00Mb
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_04 - 130.00Mb
Or any other outdated J2SE


It is important to remove older versions as these are the ones with the holes in them. You will be surprised when you go to add/remove to see all of the versions sitting there.

I went to add/remove programs and the only java apps i have are these 2. J2SE RUNTIME ENVIROMENT 5.0 Update 3 JAVA 2 RUNTIME ENVIROMENT, SE v.1.4.2_03 Should I remove any of these. Do I still need to download the Java update on the link you provided? Also this is a pretty new computer, Ive had it 1 month. Is it a good idea to do a clean install? I heard that Dells come pre-loaded with a bunch of bloatware.

Yes, remove the old ones. (java) and install the newest.

I can look at your HJT log and see if there's Dell stuff you can remove.
