Your HJT program is very outdated, go to
C:\Documents and Settings\THE BOSS\My Documents\HijackThis.exe and delete it and use the link in my signature at the bottom of the page to download and install the latest version and post a new log please.

Also, the last few days the computer starts by saying that the overclocking has been unsuccessful and then via ther options I can start it normally - although I vaguely understand what overclocking is I havent a clue how this is now popping up!

I am not looking at anything earthshattering on your log, it looks free of any malware, you do have an awful lot of programs starting up that could be clogging you down.


Open HJT Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows, check these items and click on Fix Checked.

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - - (no file)


These are at your option, the programs will still run but are not needed to run at startup

Read this, this also is your option to disable unless you feel that you need it, we are not going to delete it, just disable it , we can always re enable it if you need to.

CDAC11BA.EXE is part of MacroVision safeCast copy protection software.
The servise is used to provide software activation services and CD Key verification services for anti-piracy reasons. This technology is bundled with many products. It also increases the ammount of popups you receive on your computer.
Recommend: Disable (spyware/adware).
Leave it only if you have the games required this service.



* Go to Start> Run and type in services.msc.
* When the window opens, scroll down and look for C-DillaCdaC11BA
* Doubleclick on that service to open it.
* Then click on Stop Service
* Then change the Startup Type to Disabled.
* Close out the program.



Lets run a system cleaner to clean out all your temp files and such that may be clogging your system down.

This will by default installt the Yahoo Toolbar, you can remove it via the Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel
Download and Install CCleaner
* Click on Run Cleaner

What I would like you to do is to download, install and run Ewido, its a great program for finding bad files and programs on your system and may also show us if something is hidden and not showing up on your HJT log.


Download and install the 30 day trial of Ewido Anti-Spyware from HERE and save that file to your desktop.

* Once you have downloaded Ewido Anti-Spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program.
* Once the setup is complete you will need run Ewido and update the definition files.
* On the main screen select the icon Update then select the Update now link.
* Next select the Start Update button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
* Once the update has completed select the Scanner icon at the top of the screen, then select the Settings tab.
* Once in the Settings screen click on Recommended actions and then select Quarantine
* Under Reports
* Select Automatically generate report after every scan
* Un-Select Only if threats were found
* Close Ewido Anti-Spyware <– Do not run the scan yet.

Boot your computer into Safemode

* Go to Start> Shut Off your Computer> Restart
* As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly,
this will bring up a menu.
* Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to scroll up to SAFEMODE
* Then press the Enter on your Keyboard

IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:

* Lauch Ewido-Anti-Spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
* Select the Scanner icon at the top and then the Scan tab then click on Complete System Scan.
* Ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
* Once the scan is complete do the following:
* If you have any infections you will prompted, then select Apply all actions
* Next select the Reports icon at the top.
* Select the Save report as button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system
*** make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important
* Close Ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the results of the Ewido report scan.


Post back with the Ewido report and a new HJT log please.

I'm so sorry but I can't restart my computer in safe mode! I have tapped away at F8 as it starts and it throws out a BIOS SETUP menu but there is no safe mode on it. I do apologise for being such a computer dummy! What am i doing wrong?

Andrew, No need to apologize, been there….done that…. :D Sometimes it takes a few tries to get into Safemode, the timing has to be correct. If you hold the F8 key down , you will get a keyboard stuck key error message, you just have to tap it every second or two. Turn your computer off and then press the power button and then start tapping the F8 key. If you still can't get into Safemode, just run Ewido in Normal mode. Ken
