Has my system been compromised or am I paranoid?

I saw what looked like a script run on a Myspace page the night before last (a window quickly flashed at the bottom of a screen). Ever since then, my computer is running slower (it could be a coincidence?).

I ran Adaware right away and saw something listed that I never encountered before. I stopped it, and deleted this before starting again.

This is my log from my second Adaware scan that night.

After running that, I ran carp** Cleaner and found some cookies that were my cookies, but they had something like [ohooo1o] tagged to the back of them, instead of the usual [1] or [2].

Then I ran a-squared, Defender and Norton Anti-virus. Nothing has come up. (Maybe those are not the right programs?)

So to be safe, here's my Hijackthis log. Is there anything running that is unsafe? And is there anything running that isn't necessary? TIA.

Hello and Welcome to the forum.

These aren't bad, but not needed at startup.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Thank you so much for the reply and for your forum and your FAQ. Since my post, I used your self-help thread and found a dorment "trojan.patched.b" attached to an unused .exe in my Adobe file that has probably been undetected on this system for 3 years. Since my incident that I described above, my internet connection has been running much slower. And my log-in box for Myspace has developed auto entries that were not entered by me. Let's say my login is fatsdomino. I've deleted two auto fills that were: fatsdomino.fatsdomino.fatsdomino.fatsdomino.fatsdomino.fatsdomino.fatsdomino.(with random characters and/or japanese characters at the end) I've included a start-up log with the minor sections also showing, as I've been poking around in Hikachthis and I found the file shmgrate.exe that other sites list as a threat and others that can be. Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you dont have these programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
