Hello and welcome to TomCoyote forum :) Sorry for the wait but we are so bogged down with logs where folks have serious problems, it's hard to get to posts like this one. Your HJT log appears to be clean and you are good to go.

I will mention SpySweeper which is a good program but unless you own it, once the trial is over it uses resources and gives no benefits I know of. If it is not yours, I would consider uninstalling.

Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

Thanks pskelly. No problem with the wait - I was pleasantly surprised to receive a reply so quickly! As also was your positive assessment of my HJT log.

Thanks very much for the links. I found the first and last particularly helpful and now have Super Ad Blocker, HOSTS Secure, Windows Defender and SpyBot (although I'm not too sure this is without its bugs! - time will tell) installed and running. Re SpySweeper, my main 'like' about this is its ability to allow me control over which programs/actions try to
  • add themselves to my 'start-up',
  • amend my IE favorites, and
  • amend the registry.
Once again, many thanks for your very helpful and informative reply
