Download Hoster by Toadbee at http://www.funkytoad.com/hoster.htm
extract it to your desktop and run it. Click restore original host.

Dwnload and run CWShredder here
Make sure that all browser windows are closed with the exception of Cwshredder and choose FIX.

We have found that some of the CWS infections can be removed better from safe mode, rather than normal mode.
To get to safe mode use the F8 key while booting the machine.
Detailed instructions from here

Then post another log from hijackthis..
THANK YOU I did what you said and ran cwshredder and hoster this is my new hijackthis log….

While you are in c:/ drive you can make a folder for hijackthis also.
I followed your instructions and downloaded and ran bruteforce. In the last step you told me to use hoster to delete the hosts files, I did but everytime I restart the host files reappear. Do I have to click replace button and search for the original host file and replace it or do I just hit "use original host files" and exit the program. I still tried using msconfig and regedit but it still doesn't appear. I really appreciate your help little eagle, here is my new hijackthis log…

One of the best features of Windows XP is the System Restore option, however if a virus or spyware infection.
There can be backups made in the System Restore folder.
Therefore, clearing the restore points is necessary after a virus or spyware removal.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account
which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because
you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

To help keep your PC clean follow the recommendations in Tony Klein's article
So how did I get infected in the first place?

Spybot S&D lets you kill the 04's, the startups. Start Spybot click mode at the top left,
make sure that advanced mode is checked. Then click on tools on the lower left.
Then system startup, to the right is a double arrow bar click it to expand.
Now clicking on a value you will get a description of the command line. Removing the green
check mark will stop the startup, should you decide that you need or want it back just
replace the check mark. Restarting your PC will complete the change.
Remove the check marks from the ones listed below.

Thank You for all your help, I really appreciate the effort you put in to help clean my pc. The pc is running great it looks like it is back to normal. The only annoying thing about it is that the HOST files keep changing everytime I restart the computer. I have used hoster and spybot to change them but it comes back, the HOST files blocks specific url like symantec, mcafee, and so on. What do I have to do in Hoster to keep the changes I make to the HOST files permanent. I also noticed some suspicious files in Spybot under system startup I will post the names of those .dll files so you can tell me if there is anything I should worry about. Honestly, thanks for all your help.
I made them read only thanks, I used the system startup tool in spybot search and destroy and found some files that look suspicious should I delete them, if so how?

Hk_CU:Run msgxp C:\WINDOWS\System32\qfueoe.exe reg_run

System.ini Applets C:\WINDOWS\system32\CIDMLG.DLL
System.ini Crypt32chain cryptnet.dll
System.ini Module Usage C:\WINDOWS\system32\fp8s0317e.dll
System.ini SensLogn WINotify.dll
System.ini ssqro ssqro.dll
Really nothing to worry about, leave them they are necessary for some of your software.

Do a search for this file, right click and check properties and see who made this file.
qfueoe.exe
Thanks for your help, my computer seems okay now but there are still some things that I find suspicious. For example I get a pop up as soon as I connect to the internet. I still can't run msconfig it opens then closes rapidly. I have been having the same problems with help files. All the help files for most programs like adware and so on open and close rapidly. Regedit opens but I get an error message then it closes. My antivirus software cannot update anymore. It says it is updating but it only gets to 20 percent then it closes like the other programs. Can you please help me Little Eagle?
Can you rename hijackthis.exe to spyware and then run it. And post the log file.
