Hi people,hope im in the right place Im using M.E due to xp death recently (different pc)Anyway,there seems to be numerous issues popping up and i cant figure out why.Im no expert but i do know all the basics steps and procedures to keeping clean and up to date with latest spybot,avg etc etc(and all the rest) Anyway…firstly if i try use defrag…(quick one OR supplied one)it gets to 46% and just dosent go any further. Ive run it with all start up`s STOPPED,and ive run it in safe mode,ive been to the microsoft fix etc etc…… Ive done a full Scandisk first obviously but still to no avail… SECONDLY….if i try to use certain pics on desktop i get the "active desktop cannot find html etc etc"message Ive been to the microsoft page on that too. I done the renaming thing and tried the "run box"fix at the bottom of the page …it DID something but i dont know what…..It never did no good for the actual problem though Unfortunately due to our xp crashing means my 5 kids have to use THIS pc as well so their always playing about with various things OTHER than those things they CAN safely use…. I have looked at as much google and MS on the issue AND have had a look at some relevant THREADS but nothing seems to directly help me in any way……. SORRY IT`S A BIT LONG……..thank you in advance for ANY pointers
