I have read throught this and other forums for a way to get rid of E2Give, but it is very persistent.

When I try to run ewido in Safe Mode, it will not work.

I have:
KillBox
Avenger
BFU
Spy-Bot
Ad-Aware
FindQool
ATF-Cleaner
Vundo-Fix
Hijack-this

Hello and welcome to the forums.

If you have E2Give, this should kill it.

Please download E2TakeOut by RubbeR DuckY from here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/E2TakeOut.zip
  • Extract the file to your Desktop
  • Double click E2TakeOut.exe
  • Click the Begin Removal button
  • Wait until the program is finished scanning
  • Once done, it will produce a popup stating that the infection has been found and you need to reboot you computer to complete the removal
  • Reboot your computer
  • Once your computer has rebooted E2TakeOut will open and produce a report
  • Please copy/paste that report into your next reply
I run E2TakeOut Version 1.00, and it says: "There was no main infection found, continue with removal?" I click Yes. This is the log: E2TakeOut v1.00 [http://www.malwarebytes.org] Removed orphaned leftovers AppInit key reset It doesn't ask for reboot. I reboot. I run ewido. ——————————————————— ewido anti-spyware - Scan Report ——————————————————— + Created at: 10:51:20 PM 6/24/2006 + Scan result: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\IeBHOs.Control -> Adware.E2G : Error during cleaning. I'm thinking those are dead, but did you run Ewido in Safe Mode? If not, do so after this fix.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK

Click the Extended tab.

Scroll down until you find (NetDDEsrv)

Click once on the service to highlight it.

Click Stop

Right-Click on the service.

Click on 'Properties'

Select the 'General' tab

Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box

From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'

Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'

The service is now stopped and disabled.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Disabled NetDDEsrv.

Checked the boxes in Hijack.

Could not find files.

Rebooted.

Tried to ewido in safe mode.

After about 5 minutes it came up with a box saying:

Something bad happened in the application. Error diagnostic file saved to 'C:\Program Files\ewido anti-spyware 4.0\ewido.err'

This file appears to be binary.

I don't know what that is. You can uninstall Ewido and download again if you want.

Good Job

Log looks good :D  How is it running any issues?

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:

Download the trial version of Spy Sweeper from Here

Install it using the Standard Install option. (You will be asked for your e-mail address, it is safe to give it. If you receive alerts from your firewall, allow all activities for Spy Sweeper)

If you are taken to the internet page, just close the page.

You will be prompted to check for updated definitions, please do so.
(This may take several minutes)

Click on Options > Sweep Options and check Sweep all Folders on Selected drives. Check Local Disc C. Under What to Sweep, check every box.

Click on Sweep and allow it to fully scan your system. If you are prompted to restart the computer, do so immediately. This is a necessary step to kill the infection!

When the sweep has finished, click Remove. Click Select All and then Next

From 'Results', select the Session Log tab. Click Save to File and save the log somewhere convenient.

Exit Spy Sweeper.

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HJT log as well as the Results from Spy Sweeper file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Wow! It finally got the sucker. It found a keylogger too.

Thanks for your help.
