Hey, I've had some great help here in the past and I think you guys can help me again. I have some pretty bad stuff back on my computer and it's starting to open documents on it's own and really slow down my computer. It's called Msndn, here's my latest log:

Recently it started to open up the file asasds.exe whenever I log onto the net, and then it tries to print a file from my computer. Can someone please help, I'm getting kinda desperate!
CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!
Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O23 - Service: Microsoft Networks DN (msndn) - Unknown owner - C:\WINNT\msndn.exe

Then click "Fix checked" and close HijackThis!

Now,please go to:

Start –> Run

In the box type in services.msc then hit (or click OK)

In the Name column in the next screen look for:

Microsoft Networks DN

it.

In the dialogue box that pops up, check in the Path to executable box.

It should say: C:\WINNT\msndn.exe

That's how to be sure you have the right one.

Now, click Stop to stop that rogue process.

In the Startup type box, change it to Disabled.

Click Apply then OK

Close the services.msc window.

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Find and delete:

C:\WINNT\msndn.exe <— file

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis! log file into this thread. :)
Hmmm….

You may not have "services.msc" with Win2k…..

Might have to go this route….

Download Killbox from here:

Killbox.zip

Unzip it, but don't run it yet.

Then click "Fix checked", and close Hijack This!

Now, run Killbox.

In Killbox select "Delete on Reboot".

Paste the next line into the "Full Path of File to Delete" text box.

C:\WINNT\msndn.exe

Click the red dot with the white X in it, in the upper right of Killbox, then click "Yes", and "Yes" again.

When the machine reboots, "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)
Alright, now the results:

You can "fix" this:

O23 - Service: Microsoft Networks DN (msndn) - Unknown owner - C:\WINNT\msndn.exe (file missing)

Then reboot.

Please try one of these free online virus scans of your system:

Trend-Micro Housecall
Put on 'Autoclean' and delete what it can't clean.

Panda Activescan
Accept default settings.

Etrust Security Advisor
Choose 'Cure' whatever is found, then delete if unsuccessful.

Killbox creates a folder with copies of the files it deletes. You can remove it now (if you used Killbox).

It's "C:\!Killbox"

Unless you have other problems, looks like you're "good to go"

M68 :)

Post Infection Items To Ponder
Let's try this:

Run HijackThis! and click Open the Misc Tools section -> Delete an NT service.
In the Delete window, type msndn and press OK.
OK any prompts, close HijackThis!, and restart your computer.

Make another log file to be sure it's gone.
