One of the entries in the above log is:

In regards to that, there is a disabled entry on my IE Context menu: AccountLogon. Every time I click on it, I get an Error Message:

AccountLogon Error
ActiveX component can't create object.


How I can delete this AccountLogon from the Context menu?
I think it was added to the Context menu by the AccountLogon application ( http://www.accountlogon.com ) by Rhodes Software, which I have uninstalled some time ago.

The other problem with my new system is probably not related to the above log, but… maybe someone could give me a helping hand.

Re: Beep on Ctrl-C (Copy Command) is Not Working

My problem is the lack of a beep sound when I make a copy with the Ctrl-c (combination on my keyboard). It is probably related to the clipboard. I have tried (installed and then uninstalled) many clipboard enhancement programs.
Currently, I'm running a Clipboard Magic just to enable the beep (I don't actually need this program), refer to F.A.Q. at: http://www.cybermatrix.com/cmhelp.html


Q. I have set the beep on copy but it never beeps when I copy text. Why?

A. Assuming the volume in your speakers is turned up, try checking to make sure that the beep sound is defined. In Control Panel / Sounds / Check Sound Scheme, make sure the Default Beep is defined. e.g. "Windows XP Ding.wav"


Any advice on how to enable a beep on Ctrl-c without using the Clipboard Magic would be much appreciated (I'm using a much better clipboard utility called "CoodClip"). And BTW, my system makes a lot of beeps on a variety of other actions.

I might be able to help you with this issue, but not the sound issue.

Backup your Registry…
- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run…)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL




Click "Start"> "Run"> type in Regedit tap Enter Key

Make sure "My Computer" is highlighted

Click "Edit"> "Find"
Type in {1CB13C88-96B6-11d6-9AF5-D12D26EE1F36} tap Enter Key.
Right Click on the file if found and select "Delete"

Tap the "F3" Key to find the next entry of the file. Continue using the "F3" Key until it's finished searching.

Close Regedit.


Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.





If you dont have these programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Thanks a lot LDTate.

All set and done.

I just added the Spyware Guard, all other programs are already on my system: Spybot Search & Destroy with the TeaTimer option, SpywareBlaster, Adaware, etc., and also Avast and Ewido antivirus, ZoneAlarm, and nVidia firewalls.

It seems that I'm over protected, if such thing is possible.

Have you gotten any information about the beep issue from any of the other forums you posted at?
Spywareinfo, CC or Spybot.info forums? Have you contacted Microsoft?
