Ok, my computer takes a while to get into media files and images, and right click on them as well. I don't know what the problem is, but maybe you guys can help me out. Here's my log.

Greetings and welcome to TomCoyote.org!

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinHound] C:\Program Files\WinHound\WinHound.exe

A program of "dubious" reputation:

Winhound

Go to:

Start –> Control Panel –> Add or Remove Programs

Remove:

Winhound Spyware Remover

Then reboot.

Please make a PERMANANT folder for Hijack This!

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT. Move (drag-n-drop) HijackThis into this folder.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [links] links.exe

Looks like this to me:

Troj/LowZone-BI

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [links] links.exe

Then click "Fix checked" and close Hijack This!.

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Delete all of the following noted (in red) file(s)/FOLDER(s) you can find:

c:\windows\system32\links.exe <— file

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)

Please don't put the log in a "Quote box". It makes it harder to decipher.
:)
Thank you but I had a few difficulties. First of all I couldn't find Winhound in the Add/Remove Programs window. Then I looked in Program Files with Show Hidden Files on, and I still couldn't find it.

Also, when I booted into safe mode and went to system32, I couldn't find anything called links.exe, also with Show Hidden Files on.

But anyway, here's my new log.

Post Infection Items To Ponder
It is actually, thanks. I still have the problem with getting into audio and image files, but perhaps that's something else entirely. Thanks a lot.
