Stubborn little bugger!

Let's do this:

To Delete A Service

* Start | Run and type cmd in the Open: line. Click OK.
* Type: sc delete Acif2vecce
* Reboot the system

If you prefer to work in the registry rather than through the command prompt to delete services;

* Click Start | Run and type regedit in the Open: line. Click OK.

* Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

* Scroll down the left pane, locate the service name, right click it and select Delete.

* Reboot the system

Wonderful! Your hijackthis log appears to be clean. Would you run Spy Sweeper again and post log and let me see that the winlogonhook and temp files are gone.

Let's try this.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Please run Spy Sweeper scan and save the logfile.

Then please run Ewido, click on the Scanner run a full scan and let it clean everything it finds. Save the logfile from the scan.

Navigate to C:\Windows\Prefetch
Click Edit, click Select All, press the DELETE key, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to send all the items to the Recycle Bin.

Navigate to C:\Windows\Temp
Click Edit, click Select All, press the DELETE key, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to send all the items to the Recycle Bin.

Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED USER)\Local Settings\Temp
Click Edit, click Select All, press the DELETE key, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to send all the items to the Recycle Bin.

Note: If you cannot seem to navigate to the Temp folder above , use the Search feature and search on C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED USER)\Local Settings\Temp\*.*

Please search for all *.tmp.exe and delete the files if they exist.

Clean out your Temporary Internet files. Proceed like this:

• Quit Internet Explorer and quit any instances of Windows Explorer.
• Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
• On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.
• In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box , and then click OK.
• On the General tab, click Delete Cookies under Temporary Internet Files, and then click OK.
• Click on the Programs tab then click the Reset Web Settings button. Click Apply then OK.
• Click OK.

Next Click Start, click Control Panel and then double-click Display. Click on the Desktop tab, then click the Customize Desktop button. Click on the Web tab. Under Web Pages you should see an checked entry called Security info or something similar. If it is there, select that entry and click the Delete button. Click Ok then Apply and Ok.

Empty the Recycle Bin by right-clicking the Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop, and then clicking Empty Recycle Bin.

Reboot


Please download RegScan.
Within RegScan.zip you will find the file regscan.vbs
You may have to allow this script to run, or disable anti-spyware again in order for it to run.
A window will open titled RegFinder.vbs and you will see place to input search terms.
Please enter the search terms:
mssmgr
After the search has completed a window titled Results.txt will open.
Please copy the results and post(reply) back.

Please post the ewido scan, Spy Sweeper, and Regscan results.

Here are the results - surprisingly RegScan said that there was no mssmgr and ewido and spysweeper shoed no signs of winlogonkook, although ewido found some tracking cookies, thats all that I can interpret with my vague knowledge anyway

Here are some final instructions.


STEP 1.

System Restore for Windows XP
Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)

• Turn off System Restore.
• On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
• Click Properties.
• Click the System Restore tab.
• Check Turn off System Restore.
• Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot.

Turn ON System Restore.

• On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
• Click Properties.
• Click the System Restore tab.
• UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
• Click Apply, and then click OK.

• Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
