Same error when i try to reboot in Safe Mode, same code.

A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE.

IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOUVE SEEN THIS... BLAH BLAH

SCAN FOR VIRUSES... REMOVE NEW SOFTWARE... ETC.. ETC..

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

*** STOP: 0x0000007B ( 0xF890D528, 0xC0000034, 0x0000000, 0x0000000 )


I also get the same error when i try to check the sys. restore

start>>all prg>>access>>sys tools>>system rest.

i get a message saying that

System Restore is not able to protect your computer. Please restart your computer and then run system restore again


Ive removed the:
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsear...?p=ZNxdm006CDUS

I am able to access my E-mail (THANK GOD!!) so thats a plus!! *TY!!!!!!*
but im not sure about the sys. restore and not being able to boot in safe mode :'(

If so, can you tell me what files it contains?

This:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BookDebugDartBase] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Burn eq book debug\Readme Real.exe

Was a LOP infection (short for Live Online Portal).

If you have other user accounts on the machine, can you log into each one and post a HijackThis! log made from each user. LOP usually (but not always) infects other user accounts, and will eventually worm it's way back to this one.

Your "screenshot" had to do with "activex" controls on your machine not letting the virus scan install/run.

Please try this one (doesn't use activex):

OOOooo oyeah @@@ is still there on my moms profile... and it has logs of certain dates. along with mydll.dll and plugins folder, nothing in folder though

Yes i did a virus scan not to long ago with my McAfee *up to date* and found 4 things, a joke cookie thing, and 3 adware which i was able to remove. i did another scan and it didnt pick up *after reboot*.

im try the Housecall - Paris style right now, ill check if there is a @@@ folder in everyones profile and remove. then ill post a log for each profile.

i noticed somthing also.

i looked in my C: drive and found !killbox, i looked in there and there are vssms32, Idapi32, Readme Real, ntcvx32.dll, hkr32 (ASM file), Logs>>kb (txt file)

Yes, Killbox makes a backup of things it removes so they can be restored (if necessary).

I'm interested in this:

# 5 [Files to Delete]

Can you see if that file exists? :unsure:

I'm not sure if we got that message because it couldn't FIND the file, or it didn't successfully DELETE the critter.

About the "@@@" folder... I'm ONLY interested in the one in the "C:\Windows" folder.

ill check if there is a @@@ folder in everyones profile and remove.


I wouldn't remove those folders just yet....

This one you CAN remove:

Copy and paste the contents of the quote box below into notepad.

Save it as file name: "fixme.bat" on your Desktop.

cd c:\windows\system32
REGSVR32 /u ntcvx32.dll
pause


Then, locate fixme.bat on your desktop and <double-click> it.

A DOS window will open up.

When these commands are complete, you'll get this message:

Press any key to continue . . .

Close the DOS window.

Let me know if any error messages appear.

ntcvx32.dll was loaded, but the Dllunregister Server entry point was not found. This file can not be registered.

Hmmm.... :scratch:

Please download Process Explorer from here:

Process Explorer © 1998-2006 Mark Russinovich

Make a folder for it so it's "all by itself".

Unzip it an run procexp.exe

At the top of ProcessExplorer <click>:

Find --> Find Handle or DLL...

In the box that pops up, type (in the "Handle or DLL substring" box):

ntcvx32.dll

Then click Search

Any process using that DLL will show up in the bottom box.

Let me know all the processes using that DLL.

Worth a try.

If it won't delete, <right-click> on it an choose Properties, then "uncheck" the Read Only box, click Apply then OK, and try again.

im going to check if the sys. restore works and if i can boot in safe mode, if it doesnt work ill let you know, and if we cant figure it out, guess im calling dell, or microsoft or something :S
