Hi choonks89:

Please print, or copy and paste this text into a Notepad file and place it on your desktop, to review as you work. Please read this text completely, before beginning.

Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Please do not run it yet.

Download roguescanfix.exe, and save it to your desktop.
Double click roguescanfix.exe to install it.

Please do not run it yet.

Please download, install, and update the free version of Ewido Anti - Malware:
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • When you run Ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • From the main Ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
  • After the update finishes, the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"
  • Exit Ewido. DO NOT run a scan yet.
If you do not already have Ad-Aware SE 1.06 installed, follow these download and setup instructions. Also check for updates:
Ad-Aware SE Setup

Again, do NOT run a scan yet.

Open the roguescanfix folder, and doubleclick run.bat.
Your desktop and icons will disappear and then reappear again, this is normal.
Wait till te message "Completed script execution" appear, then click OK.
Click "Exit" to close BFU.
Click "OK" to start the SpywareQuake/Spyfalcon uninstaller, after that click "uninstall".

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Now scan with Hijack This and place a checkmark next to each of the following items, if still present:

ClockSynck - synchronizes your system clock with an internet time server. It's by WhenU, the makers of the Save Now spyware, and they're usually seen in tandem, so it's advised to replace it with one of may spyware free alternatives available. If it is to be fixed/deleted below, it should first be Uninstalled/Removed in Control Panel–>Add/Remove Programs.

The following are optional fixes:

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

While remaining in SAFE MODE:

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders shown DARK and delete them:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\hp86B.tmp
C:\windows\system32\dwdsregt.exe CCM001
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winbfi32.dll

C:\Program Files\ClockSync\Sync.exe

Exit Explorer, but DO NOT REBOOT.

While remaining in SAFE MODE:

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Your desktop and icons will disappear and then reappear again — this is normal.
Wait for the tool to complete and Disk Cleanup to finish — this may take a while; please be patient.

Next, run Ad-aware and perform a full scan. Remove everything found.

Now open Ewido Anti - Malware
  • Click on Scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives. You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one. If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
  • DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Save the report to your desktop
  • Close Ewido
Next go to Start -> Control Panel, click Display -> Desktop -> Customize Desktop -> Web -> Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Restart your computer in normal mode.

- Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
- A new window will open…click the Check Now button
- Enter your Country
- Enter your State/Province
- Enter your e-mail address and click send
- Select either Home User or Company
- Click the big Scan Now button
- If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
- It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
- When download is complete, click on Local Disks to start the scan
- When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.

Finally, restart your computer once more, and please post a new HijackThis log as well as the log from the Ewido scan and the log from the smitRem tool, which will be located at C:\smitfiles.txt.

CLEAN! :)
Hi choonks89:

Looks like there was a problem, so lets do this again.
Please, print, or copy and paste this text into a Notepad file and place it on your desktop, to review as you work. Please read this text, before beginning and please follow these directions, in the order given.

Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items:

O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} (PopCapLoader Object) - http://download.games.yahoo.com/games/web_…aploader_v6.cab
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winbfi32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winbfi32.dll

Then, click on FIX CHECKED

While remaining in SAFE MODE:

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders shown DARK and delete them, if found:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winbfi32.dll

Exit Explorer, but DO NOT REBOOT.

Since you had problems with the Panda scan, lets use the following online Virus scanner instead.

When using Trend Micro, be sure and put a check in the box by "Auto Clean" before you do the scan. If it finds anything that it cannot clean have it delete it or make a note of the file location, so you can delete it yourself.

http://be.trendmicro-europe.com/consumer/h…call_launch.php

Finally, restart your computer once more, and please post a new HijackThis log as well as the log from the Ewido scan and the log from the smitRem tool, which will be located at C:\smitfiles.txt.

Let us know if any problems persist.

CLEAN! :)
I forgot to tell you,

Trend Micro Online Scan did not work. I'm getting on to the site, the page is loading, i went through the first step, then i check the box for accepting terms and agreements, then i click 'launch housecall' but then the little bar on the side just says 'idle' and stays like that, the page doesnt even move. I try refreshing over and over, but to no avail.
:(
It looks as though this is a newer version of the virus than this fix is capable of dealing with. We are going to have to delete some of the programs we have been using and download newer versions. It is important to first delete their entire folders and files, so they do not get used by mistake.

Lets first boot into SAFE MODE then, show hidden files. To do so……

Be sure to first close all open Windows and browsers.
Next, make sure you have Set Windows to show Hidden Files & Folders, then reboot into safe mode.

Then do an All FILES SEARCH for…….
roguescanfix and smitRem
Delete all files and folders, for them.

Look on your desktop, to be sure they are not present and if they are, delete them. After you are sure all remnants are removed…………

Then, please enable hidden files and reboot, into NORMAL MODE.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Warning : running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background. Please DO NOT RUN option #2.
