Download LSP-Fix from the following link and save it to a location you can find later if necessary.

Follow these steps to remove Webhancer:
Click on start, settings, control panel.


Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.


Uninstall Webhancer from the listing of programs


Delete the following files and directories:

c:\program files\webhancer\
c:\windows\webhdll.dll
c:\windows\whagent.inf
c:\windows\whInstaller.exe
c:\windows\whInstaller.ini

If you can not connect to the Internet after removing Webhancer, please run the LSP-Fix program I had you download earlier, and click on the finish button. Reboot and you should be able to get back on.

Then reboot and post a new log please.

Please download Asquared from the link below.

http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/download/

Safe it to your desktop. Next open and check for updates.

Boot to safe mode (tap f8 while bios loads)

Then scan your system (this will take some time) after the scan is compelte allow it to fix what it has found. If there is something that it can not clean please let me know what it was.

Then reboot and post a new hijackthis log.

I tried to PM you but the system said I was not able to. I was wondering what time zone are you in & when you planned on being online next so I can be on too. I see you are in Cambridge. Is that Massachusets, Canada, or UK? Anyway, A sqaured found 21 infected items, all of them were removed successfully, none of them were malware. New HJT below, seems to be a little shorter. Thanks.

Seems to be cooking a little faster and no obvious problems. Ewido expired & I still haven't loaded Spybot back yet. I am on my machine right now & will give my Mother-in-law's PC a spin tomorrow morning. Should I reinstall Spybot, delete anything from HJT log, etc…? I also plan on adding ZoneAlarm to her machine too. Anything else? Thanks again.

Surfed the web for about 2 hours while loading Spybot & ZoneAlarm. Saved them both to desktop but haven't installed them yet. Waiting for your response. I will run usual stuff now; Adaware, Ewido, Trojanhunter, Asquared…until I hear from you. Thanks again.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
  • Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended (If available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
      • Scan Archives
      • Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post as well as a bew hijackthis log please.

Download Pocket Killbox version 2.0.0.175
http://www.atribune.org/downloads/KillBox.exe
If you already have Killbox first ensure it is this version !.

Then double-click on the killbox.exe program.


Start Killbox and click on Tools->Delete Temp Files.
Then select the option labeled Delete on reboot.

Do not close killbox, and open notepad, by clicking on Start, then Run, and typing notepad.exe and pressing the OK button.


When notepad is open, copy and paste the following bolded text into the notepad screen. You do this by highlighting each of the below bolded filenames and then pressing Control-C on your keyboard. Then click on the open notepad windows and press Control-V to paste the contents into the notepad.

Return to Killbox, go to the File menu and select Paste from Clipboard.


Still in Killbox, click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click No at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually

Then reboot and a new hijackthis log please.

The version of Killbox that was associated withthat link was 2.0.0.588

It was a little different, but I was able to find each step. The only thing that was odd was when I pasted the files into the drop down area, not all of the files pasted. But when I went back in to delete them individually, it said "Pendiing File rename Operations Registry Data has been removed by external process! ", so I guess they are all gone.
