Hello. Lately my pages load after 13-30 seconds and Firefox, explorer, and Opera just stop working alltogether. I have to manually shut them down, because they just get the NOT RESPONGIND message at the top. Here is a log, please let me know what I need to do. This is after running SPTBOT, Adaware, CCleaner in safe mode.

thanks in advance!

I see that you are running msconfig in /auto mode which means that you may have selectively removed some items in the past from the startup procedure. This can be bad if they are malware, so we would like you to reenable those startup entries by doing the following: Please click on start, then run, and type msconfig and then press enter. When the window opens click on the startup tab and make sure there are checkmarks in every entry. Then press ok until you are out of the program. If it asks to reboot, do not reboot. Now please create a new Hijackthis Log and post it as a reply.
thanks for your help.

If I may add, I haven't had Firefox or Explorer stop responding lately, but a lot of web pages take from 13-50seconds to load. I'm using comcast 6M service and the other computer on the same router is fast, so I know that it is not Comcast.
Disable SpySweeper
Open it click Options over to the left then program options Uncheck "load at windows startup".
Over to the left click "shields" and uncheck all there.
Uncheck "home page shield".
Uncheck 'automaticly restore default without notifiction".
You can enable this after resolving your problem.

Disable Spybot S&D’s protection.
Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
Click on System Startup icon.
Uncheck Teatimer box and/or Uncheck Resident.
Click Allow Change box.
Then, check next to the computerclock to see if the icon for Spybot is still there.
If it is, right click it and choose 'exit Spybot-S&D Resident'.
You can enable these after resolving your problem.

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following,
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ClearCookies] C:\WINDOWS\cc.exe
Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following file, and delete them:

C:\WINDOWS\cc.exe
Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we will take another look.
Upon doing more research, I found that my Windows XP Service Pack 2 shows as having problems being installed (even though I installed WAY back). Installation Failure Error Code: 0x80200001 Try to install the update again, or request help from one of the following resources. For self-help options: Frequently Asked Questions Find Solutions Windows Update Newsgroup For assisted support options: Microsoft Online Assisted Support (no-cost for issues related to getting updates) I'm going to try and find a way to reinstall it I guess. HJT log coming very shortly.
When I was in Safe mode looking for the c:/Windows/cc.exe file, I only found a folder named CSC under Windows. Maybe it is gone now?

still slow. pages take 15-75 seconds to load. i definatly need someone to show me how to SAFELY uninstall windows XP SP2 and reinstall it becuase my install is corrupted or incomplete according to the windows/microsoft site that has a log of all of my updates. ALL of them have a check by them EXCEPT the SP@ update.
I found the page under windows website that is helping me. i had looked before with no luck, but finally stumbled upon it.
I need some major help now because my explorer isn't working correctly and my system restore isn't working either so i can revert back to a stable system. Any suggestions? It keeps telling me that I have to reboot and try again. I click on System Restore and nothing opens up.
