Hello and welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you are not receving service elsewhere, let's proceed like this. To answer your question, you have a good AV and a good firewall. The problem is usually the operator. Good programs have to be updated, maintained and ran on a regular schedule to be effective. You do have issues and I will give you instructions for removing what I know should go. The rest is up to you. First I want to say this should be related to your ISP: http://www.whois.sc/194.168.8.100
I will be doing some minor cleaning, removing junk with HJT and finishing up with a good cleaner if you have none. If this works for you, proceed in the posted order.

1) Download, update, configure and run these two programs: http://tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php
The newest version of Ad-aware is 1.06 and Spybot 1.04. Even if you have these programs, use the link to get the newest version, update and configure them as in the link. Run Spybot first, reboot then run Ad-aware. Both programs back up what they remove so delete anything the programs say should be removed.

2) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs and uninstall these programs if there: MYWEBSEARCH and NetMeter
and :\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\ The DM was installed with another Logitech products, probably without your knowledge and because the EULA agreement was not read. At the least this is a resource waster and you should uninstall it unless you know and use it.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {00A6FAF6-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\SrchAstt\2.bin\MWSSRCAS.DLL
F3 - REG:win.ini: run=
O2 - BHO: MyWebSearch Search Assistant BHO - {00A6FAF1-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\SrchAstt\2.bin\MWSSRCAS.DLL
O2 - BHO: mwsBar BHO - {07B18EA1-A523-4961-B6BB-170DE4475CCA} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\2.bin\MWSBAR.DLL
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin] C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\mwsoemon.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin] C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\mwsoemon.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [C:\Program Files\NetMeter\NetMeter.exe] C:\Program Files\NetMeter\NetMeter.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Logitech Desktop Messenger.lnk = C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LDMConf.exe
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebse...html?p=ZNfox000
O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe
O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.net - {F4430FE8-2638-42e5-B849-800749B94EED} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker.net\partypokernet.exe (file missing)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.net - {F4430FE8-2638-42e5-B849-800749B94EED} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker.net\partypokernet.exe (file missing)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Enable hidden files&folders..reverse the process when finished.
http://www.xtra.co.n...1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\PROGRAM FILES~1\MYWEBSEARCH~1\ >>> folder

C:\Program Files\NetMeter\ >>> folder

C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\ >>> folder (delete the folder in red only, anything else can cause issues with needed Logitech products.

Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Review the instructions http://www.ccleaner.com/help/tour1.asp
Run CCleaner, Windows & Applications when you run the registry cleaner (Issues) you will be prompted to backup before you can remove stuff, make sure you do.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log and do give me feedback about how the computer is running now.

Here are a couple of free programs to check your ports/firewall if you wish:

the puter seems to booting up faster, the only downside that i can see is that the S&D Spybot update now appears in my tray. It always gives me warnings when the boot sequence has got as far as the S&D icon......i will go check and copy the little blighter.....................

No alternate that will do the job of Spybot for the price. If you downloaded the newest version, look it over, you can override many messages. If it keeps telling something you know is not true, override the message and tell it not give you that information anymore. All of this is in the Help area of Spybot, and here is a tutorial if that will help: http://www.bleepingc...tutorial43.html
You will see this in information I provide later, but here are programs I run with Spybot and Ad-aware:
SpywareBlaster
http://www.bleepingc...tutorial49.html
SpywareGuard:
http://www.bleepingc...tutorial50.html
IE-Spyad
http://www.bleepingc...tutorial53.html
and they are all freeware.

I also notice you have activated TeaTimer in Spybot. That is the icon your are seeing. If you would prefer not to run the TeaTimer portion, use these instructions to turn it off: http://russelltexas....re/teatimer.htm

If you have additional issues with Spybot, you can get answers here: http://forums.spybot.info/index.php free also.

The HJT log appears to be clean of malware, I do see a new burner and assume it is safe. here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
http://boards.cexx.o...topic.php?t=957
http://russelltexas....re/allclear.htm
http://forum.malware...wtopic.php?t=14
http://www.bleepingc...topict2520.html

If there is anything else I can do, let me know. I'll close the topic in a day or so.

Thanks...Phil
