My search engine & homepage have been hijacked…please help as I have no idea how to fix other than you guys…Thanks a bunch!!

Could you click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. Reboot when done.

CWS installs via the byte verifier exploit in MS JavaVM - just surfing a page with an infected applet can install it with no user participation. So once you’ve run CWShredder, it is vitally important that you go here, click Scan for updates in the main frame, and download and install all CRITICAL updates recommended.

Then click here to download Ad-Aware and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Then click the gear wheel at the top and check these options:

General> activate these: "Automatically save log-file" and "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal"

Scanning > activate these: "Scan within archives", "Scan active processes", "Scan registry", "Deep scan registry", "Scan my IE Favorites for banned sites" and "Scan my Hosts file"

Tweaks > Scanning Engine> activate this: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Tweaks > Cleaning Engine: activate these: "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Click "Proceed" to save your settings, then click "Start", make sure "Activate in-depth scan" is ticked green then scan your system. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here so that any remnants can be removed manually.

ok, I downloaded CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and ran it. Then I checked for updates- it said that there were none available for my computer & to check back later. I didn't download ad aware because I already use spybot search & destroy. I wanted to know if there was some way I could use that program instead??? I will wait to hear back from you before proceeding with the next step…. Again Thank You so much for your time! :)

That's an improvement - a bit more to do. Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = *hot-searches.com*;*lender-search.com*
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NUEKR] D:\WINDOWS\NUEKR.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [taskmanager] c:\windows\taskmgr.com
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WAPI] D:\WINDOWS\System32\wtssvit.exe

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, find and delete the following:

D:\WINDOWS\NUEKR.exe
c:\windows\taskmgr.com
D:\WINDOWS\System32\wtssvit.exe

Reboot back into normal mode. Click here to make sure that you have the latest Critical Update patches for Windows. It's very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Rescan with HJT and post a new log here for a final check over.

find and delete the following:

Here is my new log. I did everything you said, however after going into safe mode the only file I was able to delete was c:\taskmgr.com.
The other 2 files were not in the location of the paths you typed so I was unsure about what to do. When I did a search I was unable to find nuekr.exe, but was able to locate wtssvit.exe. I didn't do anything to that file though because I wasn't sure if it was the same file seeing it was in a different location……I will wait to hear back from you. Thanks again. :D

It may be a prefetch file, does it have .pf on the end? You don't need it anyway. You still need to update your system, other than that it looks OK - have your problems been resolved?
