OK - you are still infected and I suspect this one morphs each time you power up. Please disable the Microsoft Anti-Spyware real-time protection:

• Right-click on the Microsoft Anti-Spyware tray icon by your clock (it's the one with the red and yellow bulls-eye).
• Click on "Security Agents Status".
• Click on "Disable real-time protection".

Next, open Microsoft Anti-Spyware.

• Click on the Options menu, then Settings.
• Select "Real Time Protection" from the left column.
• Uncheck "Enable (MSAS) Security Agents" and "Enable real-time spyware threat protection".
• Click the Save button.

Finally, Right-click on the MSAS tray icon, select "Shutdown Microsoft Antispyware", and click "Yes" in the dialog that comes up.

You can reenable it once your system is clean.

Reboot then post a new HJT log - don't reboot/switch off from now on unless I instruct it.

Mr. Daemon,

I completed all the things you had asked me to with the MSAS. However, when I rebooted my computer it still showed up on my system tray, so I clicked "Shutdown MSAS" and said yes.

I am still having the issues I described to you about the computer taking a lot time to allow me to use IE and for some reason its taking a lot time for my computer to recognize the internet connection (still gives me the "limited or no connectivity" unless I connect the ethernet cable directly from the modem.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe
http://swandog46.gee.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, Hijack This will launch. Close Hijack This, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new Hijack This log.

Mr. Daemon,

I deleted the file you had asked me to in the previous log. I still have the problem where I cannot access the internet very fast and it takes awhile for me to be able to click the new "internet connection" that I have created to access my DSL provider. A lot of the spyware stuff (stuff related to unspypc) showed up in my recycle bin and I deleted all that stuff. I am including the fixwarelog and hi-jack-this log as well. I also did not get the PendingFileRenameOperations prompt. Thank you for your help. Please let me know what you think I should do next.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Exit HijackThis when done.

Click here to download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop. Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Next reboot into Safe Mode. You can get there by restarting your computer and continually tapping F8 until a menu appears. Use your arrow to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish. The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive (where your operating system is installed). You will need that log later.

Reboot back into Normal Mode and click here to run ActiveScan.

• Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
• A new window will open...click the Check Now button
• Enter your Country
• Enter your State/Province
• Enter your e-mail address and click send
• Select either Home User or Company
• Click the big Scan Now button
• If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
• It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
• When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
• When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.

Paste the contents of the Panda scan report, along with a new HijackThis Log and the contents of smitfiles.txt in your next reply.

Mr. Daemon, I deleted the two files from the hi-jack-this log that you asked me to delete. I also downloaded the smitRem program, double clicked it (so the smitRem showed up on my desktop as another folder), but for some reason when I run it in Safe mode, it does not appear. Please let me know what you think I should do. Then, after that I will run the activescan. I am still having the problems of my computer taking a painfully long time before I can actually connect to the internet. Thank you for your help. Gabby

Let me know if this improves your internet connection. Click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and make sure the option that says Obtain DNS servers automatically is selected.

Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.

Next click Start>Run and type cmd and hit OK. Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter, type exit hit enter (that space between g and / is needed).

Reboot once more then try again with my last post.

1) You had mentioned to make sure Obtain DNS servers automatically is selected; and that was already selected in my TCP/IP settings.

2) I ran SmitRem (previously I had been attempting to run it while I was in administrator mode, and instead I signed into safe mode as I usually do (i.e. like when I run windows in normal mode).

3) I am including the SmitRem, PandaScan Log, and the Hi-Jack-This Log as well.

4) I am still having the slow issues when I try to get my internet started.

Please let me know what you think I should do next. Thank you.

Mr. Daemon, HEY, we did it!!!!! Thanks a lot for helping me get all this "junk" off of my computer. I did a little searching and found other people who had the same problem I did. Through some of the forums I searched, I saw that they had recommended I download WinSockxpfix.exe It helped renew my IP address and also helped the problem (where I couldnt access IE right away). I'm so happy now!. You totally made my day with all your help, I can never repay you for how you helped me! You're definitely one of a kind! Thanks again babe. P.S. I had one more question. On my C: drive I have this program "delfiles.bat" is it safe to delete that file? What do you think? Gabriel
