Hi, Thank you for the response! I am still experiencing problrms with slow response on my system. If I try and connect to the Net, my system reboots to a Blue screen, telling me it's dumping "physical memory" to my drive. It mentionsthe following: KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - Refers to a file : ntoskrnl.exe I did download Servicepack 4.0 from Microsoft, and that helped for a while. This problem is back and is extremely debilitating. Can you help. Kind Regards Marius
I'm pretty sure the error you're getting is a hardware issue. We'll get rid of the items that need to go and see what happens.

I suggest you do this:

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = about:blank
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = https://myadsl.mweb.co.za/main.aspx
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = about:blank

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery\Blank.htm
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Unless you set this policy, fix also.
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

1. Open My Computer
2. Right click on your hard drive that you wish to clean (C drive, for example)
3. In the context menu that opens, select properties
4. Under the general tab you should select Disk Cleanup
5. Windows will scan your drive which will take a few seconds/minutes
6. A box will display the various files you can remove.
Check all boxes except compress old files (If listed)
7. Click OK and windows will comply.

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
 WOW

Hi - Just wanted to inform you, that I am still experiencing problems with my machine re-booting + getting mssge: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_TRAP ???? My computer boots up then on a Blue screen with a countdown frm 1 - 100 Also having difficuilty connecting to the NET - Everytime I Rightclick on my connection and click "connect" my machine reboots? Thanks :(
We can try this. You will need your Windows CD

Restart your computer in Safe Mode

Press the F8 key, when you see the Starting Windows bar at the bottom of the screen.

Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.

Once in Safe Mode put the Windows CD in the drive and then…
Start
Run…
type sfc /scannow Note the space.
when that is finished reboot to the Windows CD and enter the Recovery Console and type chkdsk /r Note the space.

When finished, reboot Normal.
