computer is running slow. I can hear the hard drive spooling up for no apparent reason. The Task Manager shows IEXPLORER.EXE and javaw.exe using up large amounts of ram.

Here's my latest log:

Hello Ray, and welcome to TomCoyote forum. I am not real sure how much help I can be but I will give it a try. It is very possible the noise you are hearing might mean a hardware problem. Let's look at the log, I see two things right off.

1) Spyware Cleaner is consider a rouge spyware program, see this information: http://castlecops.co...list-11563.html and you even have it running from services: http://www.spywarewa...nti-spyware.htm

Spyware Cleaner spywarecure.net false positives work as goad to purchase [A: 11-17-05 / U: 11-17-05]

My first suggestion is that you get this program off of your computer.

2) Look at the 015 "trusted zone" items in your log. I would never allow a website that much access to my computer. I would remove all of those items.

3) Besides removing the rouge spyware program and the 015's, I would suggest a good cleaning with Spybot, Ad-aware, ewido and CCleaner. At that point we would have a better idea if something was hidden from HJT on your computer.

4) I also suggest you run a diagnostic at PCPitStop, and post the log for a look by the folks who can answer questions if you need them to. You can also post a link to that diagnostic report in this thread so I can view it. We may or may not ask our experts in Other Computer Problems to look at your issues at that point.
Diagnostic: http://www.pcpitstop.com/
Results: http://pcpitstop.inv...php?showforum=6

Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Thanks...pskelley

PSKelley Thanks for your help. I wasn't even aware that I had the spyware programs you spoke of in there. I am working my way through your list, and see where that leads.

OK Ray, since your HJT log did not show any malware, here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.
