Lets try this and if necessary, we'll do a manual removal.



Backup your Registry...
- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run...)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL



I recommend you download RegSeeker. Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Run it again and again, deleting everything it finds until it finds nothing. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.

When I did the Registry it did find many things...weird when I cleaned it out as you asked on the 26th

So how come I'm away all day/evening I come back for a short time and all sorts of things are popping up all over loooool

Since the Detections Update from July 25, 2005, Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4 has been detecting Security Risks (renamed to "Windows Security Center" on July 30) associated with Microsoft Security Center Registry changes. This is neither a false positive nor a bug. It is just an information.
Spybot-S&D only wants to bring to your attention that "someone" disabled one or more notifications in the Windows Security Center, e.g. the notifications that your virus protection is not active or not up-to-date. If you changed the settings yourself you can safely tell Spybot to exclude those detections from further scans.
In order to do so please right-click each in turn, then click "exclude this detection from future scans". That way, should any other part of security center settings change, Spybot will still detect those.

Looks like that is a issue what SpyBot.

Click "Start"> "Run"> type in Regedit tap Enter Key

Make sure "My Computer" is highlighted

Click "Edit"> "Find"
Type in ADWhere tap Enter Key.
Right Click on the file and select "Delete"

Tap the "F3" Key to find the next entry of the file. Continue using the "F3" Key until it's finished searching.

Close Regedit.

I have no access to my Schedule Task in the Control Panel

I saw that my firewall had been disabled...and I see that my Virus protector is too

When I clicked on the scheduler this is the message I get

And in my Registry Editor...Monitoring...Symantec AntiVirus and Symantec Firewall

It shows (default) Type REG_SZ Data Value not set

Good day...just a small update The task scheduler gives me the 0x80090016: Keyset does not exist message as well as task scheduler access denied 0x80070005.... After doing some reading the second message is a Microsoft issue some bug in the SP2...so thank you But I seem to still have an issue with the "someone" again this morning all my protection is turned off fire wall is off...Norton and Microsoft AntiSpyware are both disabled... Unless there is someone around here I don't know about...this "someone" must be in my computer Enjoy the week Peace Blondy

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download AproposFix from here:

Save it to your desktop but do NOT run it yet.

Then please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.


Once in Safe Mode, please double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop. Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. Follow the prompts.

When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode, and post a new HijackThis log, along with the entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder.

Thank you The second link you gave me I did as they said from #3 on last night Delete all of the files in the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-18" folder. It is Norton Anti Virus Task Object. It right now is sitting in my recycle...wasn't sure if I should fully delete it or not...once I did that my Live Update became alive...I actually am getting updates loool But still I could not schedule anything... As for the first link you put...what is your opinion...do the work around or wait until they fix it being they know it is an issue... I am pretty good at doing manual checks on my computer...it was just the luxury not a necessity I got this computer from "someone" it had the Sasser virus and everything else known to man as it hadn't been turned on or updated since 2003...I've come along way

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Click Start> My Computer, select the Tools menu and then Folder Options, after the new window appears select the View tab…]
This time select the: Restore Defaults
Select: Apply, and click OK




If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.
