Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Boot to safe mode (tap f8 while bios loads) then make sure that all hidden files and folders are present

Click Start.

Open My Computer.

Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.

Select the View Tab.

Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.

Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.

Click Yes to confirm.

Click OK.

Next look for and delete this folder

C:\Program Files\SurfAccuracy <<<folder

Then reboot to normal mode and post a new hijackthis log and scan with kapersky again and post its log.

So far so good , what about the viruses in the system restore, should I do something about them? I also wanted to ask how I can manage my start up programs. It takes quite a while for my pc to boot and I am sure that I do not need all of the programs that are running. Thnaks again for your help. Cheers, Shalane

Ok, if it is running good then ew can clean out restore. You basically need to turn it of and then back on tutorial here >>> http://www.pchell.co...emrestore.shtml

You can what is in your start ups with information from this link. >>>> http://castlecops.com/StartupList.html

In the thread on what Tom uses (in my next post) there is a link to a thread on a tool.
