Below is the new hijackthis log. I'm going to go ahead and ask a few more questions, in case I am clean now. Maybe you can help me with these.

1) How do I keep clean? I bought a computer for my seven year old and one for my ten year old for Christmas. They go to kid sites, which someone told me may be where I got alot of my Spyware. Do I use the same thing to stay clean on all three computers?

2) How do I get things to quit starting up when I turn the computer on? My start-ups seem to keep growing. I tried going to "RUN," typing MSCONFIG, then start up, and removing from there, but it won't let me (unless I am doing something wrong). It tells me to reboot, the puts me in a circle of rebooting and re-starting, until I go back to the previous settings. Once I tell it to go back to the previous settings, it lets me in.

3) How do I know what I can take off of startup without messing something up? I just want what I must have, including Norton Antivirus, and anything you tell me to add.

Sorry if I am getting ahead of myself. I can't thank you enough for what you have already done.

1) Keeping clean, well that is the trick isnt it


If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.
Make sure that your kids are not set up under administrative account but user accounts this will help reduce the chance of infection.

2) Start ups

In Tom Coyote protection you will see a liner abaout a start up manager, you can use this to manage your start ups.
