Windows XP Pro I'm thinking it is some sort of codec problem… Conflict? The Cursor will suddenly jump to another part of the screen and/or act as if the right mouse button was clicked. Only happens when computer isn't being used. Second symptom at some point in using the computer I can not right click and drag/drop a file But I can still cut/paste a file. Also connot drag the Icons on the desktop after this happens. I'm fairly sure the machine is clean… Hijack this shows nothing unusual. Neither Ewido, Spysweeper, Pest Patrol, Spybot Search & Destroy, Adaware, CWShredder or Microsoft Antispyware detect anything. Norton AV 2005 comes back clean. Also running Spyware Guard, and Spybots Teatimer. Run Spyware Blaster. And yes I may be a bit paranoid about Viruses & Spyware. It usually manifests after playing Divx Files. OTOH I took advantage of the free Divx 5th Anniversary offer and run the "DivX Create Bundle, including the DivX Player, DivX Pro 6 codec and DivX Converter", Which should be clean. 3mbps DSL in use. I'm thinking it is a codec conflict between Divx and some other codec(s)? Or maybe something got into where windows stores actions on a right click? Many thanks for any help. Roger
Right click any were on desktop and choose properties. Under the "settings" tab choose "advanced" then under the "troubleshoot" tab, back the slider off one notch and click apply and then ok ,, then apply and ok once more and reboot.. post back and let us know what/ if any/ difference.

OK, I'll try that tonight when I get home. It sounds like you are thinking something in the hardware acceleration of the video card. Bog standard GeForce MX200/400 64Mb. I don't recall which off hand. But more than adequate for a non-gamer like me.

Thanks, I'll let you know
