Dear LDTate,
I got the restore point created, but did not get a restore at "My Computer" used Controlpanel and "System" to turn off, reboot and turn on restore function.
I do have Adaware and Spybot, but they could not keep up with what was already going on in my system. I will follow up on your other recommendations too.

PS Still no problems. I'll try the system resotre in a few days to make sure that I have done it right and I have this pristeen system to come back to some day when I'm not so lucky.
