Dear LDTate, I got the restore point created, but did not get a restore at "My Computer" used Controlpanel and "System" to turn off, reboot and turn on restore function. I do have Adaware and Spybot, but they could not keep up with what was already going on in my system. I will follow up on your other recommendations too. Thank you much for all of the help and education. Best regards, dave. PS Still no problems. I'll try the system resotre in a few days to make sure that I have done it right and I have this pristeen system to come back to some day when I'm not so lucky.
