Your Hijack This logfile looks to be clean.

If you are having problems, please advise what they are, so we can provide informed assistance.

Securing a PC normally requires a two step approach. Protection from parasites and removal of parasites that slip through. It is usually much easier to Protect a PC, than to remove the Malware and Internet parasites after they have a secure foothold.

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

• Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
• Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  
  Download the new Ad-Aware SE version, and follow the instructions on how to do a full scan: http://forums.spywar...showtopic=11150
  -reboot after using Ad-Aware SE. Also while there get the VX2 plugin and follow the instructions to run it also.
  
• How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.

To protect yourself further:

• IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
• MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
• Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.

I also suggest that you delete any files from "temp", "tmp" folders. In Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" => "Internet Options" => "Delete Files" and select the box that says "Delete All Offline Content" and click on "OK" twice. Also, empty the recycle bin by right clicking on it and selecting "Empty Recycle Bin". These steps should be done on a regular basis.

Thanks Piatan, Using Win XP home, Mozilla 1.7.12. I am using on daily basis, always checking for updates first, EWIDO, Ad Aware se, Spybot, MS AntiSpy, AVG, Kerio Personal Firewall. Started getting 20 to 40 tracking cookies at a time. Used CW Shredder and several other programs. The tracking cookies would be removed, then come back when I surfed the web again. I downloaded fresh copy of Mozilla 1.7.12, then uninstalled Mozilla, then deleted all Mozilla entries in RegEdit, deleted ALL references to Mozilla including profile, on my hard drive. Rebooted, reinstalled Mozilla, set up new profile. Since I did that, I am not getting the tracking cookies any more. I think I had something corrupted in my profile file that allowed all the malware.
