[stewie griffith]

I can't access any google pages or use the google search toolbar on my firefox browser. I suspect a hijacking.

I have taken all the precautionary steps (i.e. ad aware, spybot, cwshredder, ewido scan, turned on all startup items in msconfig). Here is my hijackthislog.

Please help. I posted this in geeks to go days ago and never got a response. Thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome to TomCoyote forum, sorry about the wait we are extememly busy I can see a little junk that should be removed from your log, the tools you ran should rule out any major issues that would cause a problem. I will remove what I see with HJT and see what happens.

Just to be sure, you do have Firefox version 1.0.7 and you are downloading the toolbar for Firefox: http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/ If all of this is true then I do not believe malware has anything to do with it. I would suggest this page: http://www.google.com/support/toolbar that has troubleshooting information and a contact us link. This link may help: http://www.google.co...ic.py?topic=120 and specific information about the toolbar for Firefox is on that page.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

These lines are clutter, you can leave them if you use them, but the one highlited in red must go.

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin\jusched.exe needs an update. Locate the Java Consolt in the Control Panel and update it, set the updates to automatic if no one is going to update manually.

thank you thank you thank you. Whatever it was--either deleting the stuff on the HJT or the Java update, Google now works just fine. Thanks again. The oce Repro Desk program is OK (if that's what you mean by validate). Just a note...on the Java Control Panel under the advanced tab and <applet> tag support, I try to select the Mozilla box and I get a message to check that Mozilla is properly installed or I have sufficient permission to change system settings (I am the administrator). Above issue is not a big deal--everything seems to work just fine. Again, thank you for your help. --Stewie
