I'm using Firefox as my browser and even when it not running som esort of adware is starting it and diplaying various commercial sites. Often the url is "e.rn11com" or end in "yyy52.html.

Thanks for the offer of help but the dayam bug beat me! I had to dump everything and reinstall XP. I could see what was causing the problem but I couldn't find out how to get rid of it. Very frustrating to say the least. Again, thanks for the offer. I'm sure there were many in line ahead of me. DWest
