I don't understand why tis isn't working.

Delete the fixme.reg file you have now.

Launch Notepad, and copy/paste in the box below to a new text file.
Save it on your Desktop as fixme.reg
Make sure you include the REGEDIT4.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\Post Platform]
"SV1"=""

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WINIK]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\WinIK]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WINIK]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\WinIK]

Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it.

You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?".
Answer 'Yes' and wait for a message to appear similar to "Merged Successfully".

This is for your friend.

Get a copy of winsockxpfix.exe before you do anything. You just run it and
things should work OK after it reboots your system. You can download it for her. Put it on a Floppy Disk or whatever and copy it to her PC.
