hi

the log looks good now..

however a clean log doesnt always mean a clean system, so lets do an online virus scan :

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • This will program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button:

those are harmless unless you use system restore function to restore to a previous state

as for the norton quarantine items: its been a while since i used norton, is there a function to manage quarantined items?
use it to delete the files, or navigate to the folder and delete manually in safe mode

there is somethinng i'd like you to do

go to http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=1.0
, read instructions for uploading files

the press start new topic, include in the post a link to this thread, so i know from who it is. then attach the contents of c:\killbox folder to your message. it would be best to zip the folder, then upload

thank you in advance
after taking a look at the files i can offer more advise on them
hi just to be sure download the following
rdrivRem.zip
unzip to your desktop

update ewido to the newest definitions, dont scan yet!

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight "Safe Mode" then hit enter.

1.) Please go into the rdrivrem folder and double-click rdrivRem.bat to run the program - follow the instructions on the screen. After it's complete, rdriv.txt will be created in the rdrivRem folder.

2.) Double-click the Ewido Security Suite icon to run the program.
  • Click on scanner
  • Click Complete System Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean the first infected file it finds. Choose "remove", then put a check next to "Perform action on all infections" in the left corner of the box so you don't have to sit and watch Ewido the whole time. Click OK.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop
  • Exit Ewido
reboot back to normal mode
post ewido report and a fresh hijackthis log

i wonder what has happened to killboxes backups files
