Hello,

I'm hoping to find some help from a kind soul.

My computer has been running extremely slow. Can't hardly function. This has been going on for about 1 week now. On top of that, just today I got the Trojan.vundo virus. Below is my Hijack log.

I ran adaware and spybot about 3 days ago and found nothing. I tried to run adaware again right before hijack and it would not run. Very slow system.

Any help is gtreatly appreciated.

TBwoods

Run Hijack This!

Click the "Open the Misc Tools section" button.

Click the "Open process manager" button.

Check the "Show DLLs" box (upper right).

Click on each item in the upper window, then look in the lower window.

Check to see which processes are using C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddccb.dll

Post back letting me know all processes using that DLL.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe

http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.

l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing .

This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, Notepad will open with a log. Copy/paste the contents of that log into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Evilware Exorcist, Thanks for your reply. Pardon my ignorance. I ran Hijack this again and don't see "Open the Misc Tools Section" button. Where do I find this. TBwoods
Evilware Exorcist, I looked and can't find any listings for C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddccb.dll. There was other C:\WINDOWS\system32\ items though Any other advice? Thanks, TBwoods

Evilware Exorcist, I went into safe mode. Was able to type the path C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddccb.dll Then when asked for second filepath, i typed C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddccb.* and it could not find that file. I bounced out of safe mode, restarted the procedure, and now I can't get my desk top up in safe mode. Tried about 5 or 6 more times to get back to the desk top in safe mode but can't. I get as far as selecting a user (I have 5 users). As soon as I select a user, it initializes the user then the screen goes black and you can see the words "safe mode" in both lower corners. Something also in the top of the screen but I forget what it is. An clues? Thanks, TBwoods
Evilware Exorcist, I made a typo above. The 2nd file that could not be found was C:\WINDOWS\system32\bccdd.* not the file that I mentioned. Any ideas? TBwoods

Safe Mode Problem Workaround

After booting in "safe mode", push these three keys at the same time:

The task manager appears on the screen.

Click on the Applications tab, then click New task.

Then click on Browse.

"Browse" your system to the KillVundo.bat file in the VundoFix folder, then click OK.
You are amazing. My system is so much faster. Speeds I havn't had in a long time! I haven't played much but things look really good so far.
