But first, I have to tell you that I started some cleaning of my own last night before you replied.
I think I identified that I had a Purol virus of some sort. Did some checking on Google and tried to remove what I could, but I'm still not sure if I did everything right.
Here's what I've done so far:
Did all this in Safe Mode:
Ran Adaware
Ran Sypbot
Ran Ewido, which removed and cleaned 2008 objects
Ran CWShredder and it removed one object.
From HJT, I checked and fixed some 04 entries related to winstart.32. Hope I did that right.
From Windows Explorer, I found a suspicious file. C:\windows\winstart32.zip
It was weird, it wasn't an .exe, it was a zip file. Think that was the root cause. What do you think?
